Well, turns out it wasn't construction crew, it was production crew for an Amazon commercial being filmed nearby, and they were ordering coffee for the entire crew. Probably best case scenario for how that could have gone because they weren't impatient and also they tipped well.

Oh god some guy from the construction going on nearby said he's going to come back in soon with an order of like 35 drinks for his crew. Why would you think this is a good idea. Now I'm just in fight or flight, and best case scenario his drinks will be lukewarm.
