"And I have hope, because I truly believe that we are witnessing the death rattles of colonialism, the death rattles of white supremacy, the death rattles of everything that tries to keep us separate from each other." 🔥
Did you know I went on Dean Spade's podcast to talk about war resistance, looting, rioting, transness and liberation? It was a really great needful conversation when I was having a hard day!
25 years ago, in April 2001, at the high point of the movement against capitalist globalization, anarchists from around North America converged in Québec City to oppose a summit intended to establish a “Free Trade Area of the Americas” (FTAA).
A blow-by-blow account of the resulting confrontations:
Last week, a 20 year-old man threw a molotov cocktail at Sam Altman's mansion; two days later, people fired a gun at it. Earlier that week, someone fired gunshots into an city councilman's house who approved a data center.
Why the AI backlash has turned violent:
US Vice President JD Vance, right, with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in early April 2026 in Budapest. Vance declared during his visit to Hungary that “Viktor Orban is, of course, going to win.” Orban responded "That was the plan." There is a red line through them expressing disapproval. To put it lightly.
Whatever happens in the Hungarian elections this weekend, it's important to understand that Hungarian democracy has served to concentrate autocratic power in Viktor Orbán's hands for decades.
Even if Orbán concedes power without a fight, the system itself is the problem.

Orban was a cornerstone of the international anti-trans movements. Hungarian trans people were among the early targets of his authoritarian regime.
It'll take a long time to come back from it all but I hope Hungarian trans people sleep slightly better tonight.

"Why don't Americans..." they do. There's brave acts happening out of sight everyday.
Why don't YOU support them when they get arrested or provide material cover for them?
My book tour starts *gulps* in two days, lmao, and I've just published the tour schedule on @caw-shinythings.bsky.social These are the first batch of East Coast dates, but I'm hoping to be on the West Coast in June or July. Anyway, come thru!
1000 stories to be honest. People are in motion everywhere. Folks in Minneapolis continue to hold each other thru this moment - every day I see comrades raising thousands to keep neighbors houses.
A friend adopted a class at her local elementary school & throws monthly parties for kids, no fanfare.
THREAD: The Massachusetts House just advanced a draconian and unconstitutional social media ban bill.
"This legislation would have kicked Greta Thuneberg off social media before she organized her first climate protest. How does that make kids safer?"

“The importance of an abolitionist education is to break apart what we call hegemony, a common sense understanding of how the world works.”
Philadelphia’s Abolition School taps the ‘radical potential’ of political education, @adryancore.bsky.social reports.
@bcmerchant.bsky.social: "Every Pew poll I’ve seen over the last couple of years has found basically the same thing. The more people use AI, the less they like it, and the more concerned they are."

I talked to the brilliant Kathi Weeks about her new book, Abolition Archives, Feminist Futures, about Angela Davis, Shulamith Firestone, and Donna Haraway, and about abolishing work, the prison, and the family
TEXT: It’s important not to feel completely defeated when you lose a particular battle, because there are going to be many battles. It’s important to put politics on a longer timeframe and still take pleasure in being part of it. There’s always this pragmatic assumption: “If we lose, people will go home and be disappointed.” How do we narrate what it means to commit to fights that won’t be won in our generation? We don’t have the vocabulary to explain what that means.

Seven foreign doctors and aid workers who volunteered in Gaza described a perverse situation in which Israel permits doctors into Gaza but not medical equipment—even months into a supposed ceasefire—prompting several to smuggle medical supplies in, even as they treat new casualties of war.
Two stacks of handbills, one reading "What do anarchists want with No Kings?" and the other, "Resist ICE—Abolish ICE" on a bright blue banner with bold text reading "crimethinc.com"
We've prepared an array of handbills for distributing at the No Kings rallies—introducing anarchism, the case for abolishing ICE, and the Prairieland case.

NEW: Like many of you, I found the revelations about César Chávez’s sexual abuse of Dolores Huerta, Ana Murguia, and Debra Rojas absolutely devastating. For @prismreports.org, I wrote about the importance of grappling with Chávez’s true legacy—both as as a civil rights leader and a rapist.

Over the last 24 hours, ICE agents have invaded over a dozen airports across the United States, where they’ve been deployed ostensibly to assist with long security lines caused by the partial government shutdown.
Wondering how the people arguing that putting ICE in airports would be a good thing for XYZ reasons have any comment on the video of a woman being tackled and arrested by ICE agents at an airport. Who is this a "net positive" for?
