We’ve never eaten there but we had a lovely delivery meal from them during lockdown

I have finished it now and can confirm the remaining 59% is just as good.
I think I senselessly murdered about a billion pixelated lemmings back in the day.
I haven’t either!
Block 27, much the same! Fabulous atmosphere, I’m so glad to have been there.
Oh I have just got home to see this! Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, even if the outcome wasn’t perfect.
Excellent if accurate and transferable. This article confuses measures of power and power storage so I’d want to read further to get a better picture. When I visited South Australia they were talking about batteries primarily for fluctuation management rather than night time power.
The problem is that we can’t store it or move it about efficiently - the price of electricity now goes negative at peak sunlight in some places. So solar can only ever be part of the solution. I’m hoping we’ll start storing a bunch of electricity in our cars, for example.
And we’re still seeing adaptations of 50+ year old works and those are nearly all from male writers.
Alien Clay is a 99p kindle deal this month.
I love this, it is so true.
My (irregular) fanzine is Dante’s Cardigan, which I got off a paint swatch so this is very relatable! Thanks ‘Olly!
I feel seen, and maybe need to stop crawling my feed?
A photo of an obsolete IR remote control (Harmony H6550 sitting on a desk.
What I've put on eBay today – a universal remote control from the actual Middle Ages. Possibly should just go to tech waste. Thank you for your good and faithful service, and the three remote controls, mouse and keyboard in the living room remind me that this problem still isn't solved.
they all are! I can't believe I never noticed till it was pointed out to me.
sending love 💕
We have known each other for decades! Of course I'm following back
I have followed many people back! If I forgot to follow you (there were a lot), please comment and I'll sort it. Unless you're a bot or scammer of course.
A picture of some mechanical chess clocks on a desk. the front one has a very 70s design look
Vintage mechanical chess clocks for that soft ticking and retro vibe… #comingsoontoebay #digitalonesarewaybetter
yes that is what I am like!
I am endeavouring to use this more. Meanwhile what should I watch on @mubi.bsky.social? (I already know about The Substance which caused me to get a membership)
We do not cover every possible thing and it's only a slightly longer ep than usual, I promise.
It's good, isn't it?
Hey everyone, @octothorpecast.bsky.social is now on Bluesky! Go follow us for all your SF and fandom nonsense. Coming up on Thursday this week, 'we talk about the Hugos a whole lot'.
All sorts of indie stuff has shown up on the Hugo ballot over the years, both as finalists and on the long list. The nomination data is usually a great source of cool stuff we don’t all know about yet. There are also fan and semi-pro awards. But it’s a popular award; it mostly goes to popular works.
We had that set!
of course, as soon as husband left the pizza turned up, in that way of things. It's freezing cold though. hey ho serves us right for ordering Pizza Hut.
Pizza Hut's entire customer service is "phone the restaurant", who are not taking calls. Our pizza went into an online ordering black hole about an hour ago. Have despatched husband into rain with lantern and pitchfork. Why yes, I'm quite hungry now.
I'm going to be visiting Canberra, Melbourne (and Ballarat and Greensborough), Adelaide (and Clare and Elizabeth), Sydney, Christchurch, Wellington, Picton, Auckland and Perth. I'm starting with Conflux, the Australian national SF convention, in Canberra 29 September - 2 October
For anyone who doesn't know, GUFF – the Going Under/Get Up-and-Over Fan Fund, is part of a fan fund tradition dating back 75 years to foster community building by shipping science fiction fans around the planet. If you're in Australia or New Zealand, I'd love to meet up over the next five weeks. 1/2
