I learned recently that it’s an insult in Germany to call someone “hobbyless” or to engage in “hobbyless behavior” and it’s become my favorite way to think of assholes who have nothing better to do than to make other people miserable. Get a hobby. Build a model train and calm down.

- i know the ibis king is supposedly lying but i swear i keep hearing things that are at least mostly true from his kitty mouth. i am very easy to deceive

- big sister nefer is kind to kids and they trust her so her first commission outside of Shady Nod Krai Stuff was helping find a little girl’s missing parents 🥺

- kids sneak into the curatorium to play with ashru. oh my god

- her and jahoda :((( their little scene is so domestic…

- she didn’t end up sending the letter so she never confided to candace about it :( but thankfully she met katayoun eventually and she was interested in her culture without being disrespectful

- we are now in nod krai. nefer needs a full time employee because ashru needs his bowl refilled in time

These students, who have never been touched by any sort of hardship, have never seen me as a peer, let alone as an equal human being. To them, I'm nothing more than a curiosity, an object to be gawked at. The only reason I'm allowed to exist here is because they need someone to use as a footstool. I've tried explaining, yelling, presenting every piece of evidence, and I've dug up every story from the depths of my heart, all just to prove that we aren't the "desertfolk" they imagine us to be. ...I think that perhaps I should return to Aaru Village. - it’s unclear whether all students from the desert were put in vahumana at the timeor if nefer’s tutor chose for her (cyno is a special case, so i’m not counting him)

- she still understood how hard it was for someone like her to be allowed an education at all, so she accepted without a word

- the excitement was enough to help her think about things other than her trauma. she finally had dreams that weren’t flashbacks :(

- the akademiya has a test to determine which darshan you should go into. this did not apply to students from the desert when azar was in charge

- she and candace were really close. and held hands. oh my god

- she was really excited to go to the akademiya, her dream darshan was amurta (she was really good at recognizing desert flora and fauna) followed by kshahrewar (for mechanical sciences)

reading nefer’s character stories… they’re really good so far

if the difference in interest is small go w the latter

i think it depends on how much work you want to do independently (are you ok working harder bc you already like the topic since you’ll get less from lectures) and also how open you are to getting more into a topic that you’re not originally too interested in (if the lecturer is that good)

but sometimes i want to do all in marker and i get so annoyed. GO DARKER!! LAYER MORE!!

yes!! i’ve been forced to get Very Personal with my colored pencils because of this deeply evil pastel palette. haven’t tried with watercolor yet though… i’m worried about the paper

оhuhu markers are good but the color selection within a set is always missing Something in a way that’s irritating but not irritating enough to spend an extra 50€ on. i’m dying here

i think id like more contrast in my marker set but it’s so much moneyyyy
