- "How long would it take to walk there? Or are we sailing? Gods I would love to be on a ship again"

Her ears perked up at the word 'exotic'

To her, that word lead to rare treasures and unforgettable adventures.

"I would love that mom! That sounds amazing"

She finished digging her hole and planted the first Kola seed. Making sure it got a dose of her special water as well -

She gives her mom's hand an appreciative squeeze in return along with a small smile

"Yes.. maybe one day"

She walks a little further along and finds a good spot with rich soil for the seed and starts digging with one of the tools.

"So.. how did you collect so many beautiful magical plants?"

- "This uh.. Verit-serum though sounds like you had no control over yourself. No one should be blamed for that. And if this wife of Harrys has a problem with that, she can answer to me."

"- Even if the cost was a few broken hearts. And at the time I was just an innocent swabbie with a silver tongue and a pretty face. Ifraëll never approved.. but we both understood we had to listen to the Captains orders"

She stopped walking briefly to wipe away the tears clouding her eyes -

"That makes sense. I can think of more than a few maidens who might hold some grudges against me.." She flashed a sad smile at her mom

"Piracy isn't all just raiding villages and ships for gold, sometimes my old captain needed information to get into castles full of gold.. -"

- took together when she was little

"Harry.. Potter..? Well I hope he doesn't hate you as much as his wife does. Why does she still think you're competition though? If Harry is married to her and not you.. she shouldn't have any reason to hate you right?"

It was nice just walking with her mom, it reminded her of the walks they -

Hmm.. So many questions was right, but what to ask first?

She wandered with her mom beside her, looking for a suitable place for the new tree to grow. She had lots of seeds too in case her mom wanted more than one

"Who's the old friend of yours you contacted? How do you know them?"

- She handed the seed to her mom, "Now you can grow your own Kola plant and add it to your collection of amazing plants! I'm curious how it will change from growing under a yellow sun"

- She pulls out a small knife and cracks open the nut, revealing a bright red seed

"And this is what we grind up to make our tea.. which i assume its called something different here because you looked at me weird whenever I called it tea"

She giggled, but how was she supposed to know? -

- belt and pulls out a dark red, almost black, Kola nut.

"This is a Kola nut, the colouration comes from the sun on Voggrun being more blue than the yellow sun here. When fully grown, the leaves are also a deep black with red splotches across them to absorb the maximum possible amount of light" -

She nods, still a little out of breath, and sets her empty cup in the sink, following her mom out to the garden

Shes awestruck by the large colour changing plant

"Yeah! I would love to learn about all your plants you have here. They seem so unique and magical"

She reaches into a pouch on her -

- She gasps for air, her face red and flustered from the excitement.

The kola nut tea here must be extra strong and it seems to have made her a little hyper

"So.. how.. long.. until.. it reaches.. your friend..?"

"- your Owlin friend delivers messages!"

She continues to dance excitedly in place squealing with amusement,

"That's probably way better than trusting it to a raven! With them you never know if they'll deliver it or trade it to the goblins for a shiny trinket!" -

She almost chokes on her tea mid sip as her moms owl flies into the room and she jumps up with excitement

"A baby Owlin! I can't believe they're here on your planet! And it's so small, I don't think I've seen an Owlin person under 5 feet tall. Most of the Owlins I know back home are bards but -"

"- right direction. Either way it sounds like quite the adventure!"

- She paused cringing a little "that was kinda gross but i helped her fix it up with a good prosthetic at least"

She sipped more of her tea, almost finishing it. It was very addicting

"Old friends would probably be more helpful than books. At least your friends might be able to point us in the -"

"Chasing a fox sounds like fun, maybe I could join you on your next hunt?" She flashes a wide smile

"I got my wolf a few years ago, scared the hell outta mom with it too. Neither of us were really expecting it mid-battle with some bandits. Mom was so distracted she lost her arm unfortunately" -

- "Oh this smells amazing!" She grabbed her cup and carefully took a sip so she didnt burn herself

"This tastes eerily similar to moms Kola nut tea back home, it's perfect thank you" She took a larger sip, she really missed her morning tea

"How did your hunt go last night mom?"

She was just finishing up her routine when she heard movement and a wonderfully bitter smell coming from inside.

She heard her mom say something but her wolf senses weren't quite in tune yet

With a large sniff of the air, she followed her nose inside to the kitchen -

- She should probably practice her Tai Chi today, her moms dwarven monk teachers told her it would help control her magic but she hadn't done it in a while

She walked outside to the garden and found a nice peaceful spot to go through her routine while she waited for her mom to wake up

- maybe she would join her mom on a hunt tonight. It had been too long since she shifted into her wolf form, and even then it was just to help her other mom defend her village against a bandit raid

She stood up and stretched before folding up her blanket and setting it on top of her pillow. -

She was woken up by a rude sunbeam that peeked through the window and had decided it was time for her to be awake

She grumbled as she sat up, angry at the sun for being offensive

Her mom was probably sleeping in after her night out. She remembered hearing a wolf howl last night and smiled, -

- "Sleep is definitely a good idea.. I haven't slept in almost a week I think."

She laid down on the couch, thankful it was softer than the bed her other mom had let her use.

"I cant wait to spend some time with you mom...."

Her words slurred together as the sleep quickly over took her.

She rubs at her tired eyes, no she hadn't slept in a while thanks to her other mom giving her kola nuts to help her stay awake before leaving Faeria.

The spell to get here had required a lot of concentration and energy to work properly, and she could feel the toll it had taken on her body. -

- "I don't know what to do.. this planet is so strange. I don't know how in gonna get back to you and mom in the future from here"

- She continued watching the strange sun until Cho returned. It was a strange feeling being on a different planet

"Thank you mom, for letting me stay here. I know today has been a lot to take in..."

She sat back down on the couch and rested her face in her hands. She felt hopeless -

She looked out the window, watching the sun steadily set on the horizon

"I didnt realize it was already so late, the days must be shorter here than they are back on Voggrun"

She stood up and awkwardly waited for her mom to grab a blanket and a pillow. She wasnt sure how to help in this situation -

"- that takes away loved ones"

She took a few shaky breaths, calming herself down before her emotion-fuelled powers could come out and destroy everything

"Gods.. even after so many years it all still seems like it happened yesterday"
