This has been my theory about that gaff. “Give me a bible quote that glorifies violence.” Because they are all ignorant of what is actually in the bible, they didn’t think to question

Everyone’s laughing at Pete Hegseth’s Bible verse but there are a lot of quotes that can only be found in the Caucasian Translation of Bible

America’s True Fascist Architectural Legacy It’s not the kitschy White House ballroom—it’s logistics warehouses converted to ICE detention centers.

For whatever reason, as I read the news about JD and the US efforts abroad, I thought about the series of posts from @mlsist.bsky.social a few years ago.

Good news though: “this one approach will totally fix it!”

I too have written about white conservatives in southern state legislatures rushing through bullshit changes to the law just to thwart the advancement of literally one black man, but I'm a historian who writes about the Jim Crow era South and not a reporter discussing current fucking events there.

I've got some very busy colleagues doing genuinely cool stuff in my center. Check out our quarterly newsletter for some great community-based work and more!

I mean, if the J6-ers are any indication, the likelihood of recidivism is high amongst this population...Also, what will they get pardoned for?...

Just think of how great it'll be when you can grab a PL train to the Amtrak!

A better way to reframe this is "most job growth is in sectors that have historically been dominated by women workers. These roles are gendered & devalued, often seen as un-masculine, as they often entail care provision or provision of social services."

Blah blah blah gender stratification but also if you ever say the words, “make girly jobs more manly” to me, I will laugh in your face. Just a full on guffaw. What is wrong with you?

This is the kind of benefit cities would think about around 1999 when we didn't think people were into TOD, walkability and cities more generally. It's like the last 30 years never happened...

Again…it’s one thing to have a handful of tickets…but 893 ($260k) takes real effort. This translates to 2-3 FTEs…13 local housing vouchers…

This shattering is what's bringing Boomers out to protest, if my parents who've never protested in their lives are any indication. They are angry and disillusioned and, frankly, hurt. I don't care if you think it's BS - they didn't. And they're pissed.

A scaled down version of this Tenant Opportunity to Purchase played a key role in helping Charlottesville buy the Carlton mobile home park in conjunction with Habitat and Piedmont Housing Alliance when it was put on the market.

It's bad but has gotten a lot better (than the $35 for each car). Parking is costing them $1300 per year: $55 for for the 1st vehicle, $80 for the second vehicle. $115 for the third vehicle, $175 for each vehicle beyond 3.

Really happy to see JUA uplift work on tenant empowerment and community data. In this research, my coauthors and I reflected on a tough project in a tough time - stopping evictions in Atlanta and Richmond during the COVID19 pandemic.
