As an adult I love facsimiles because of the accuracy, but as a kid I loved the re-writing/extras from books like Classic X-Men. Just made everything seem bigger. I think this is a pretty creative solution overall.

100%. And there's nothing wrong with that, comics has room for both. Comics needs more early 90s X-Men. I bought Wizard at a pharmacy in a town of 10,000 and discovered Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns. That wasn't because of Love & Rockets, that was because of Jim Lee knocking 'em dead at Walmart.

I was the perfect age for early Image and absolutely loved it as a kid. Buying a Badrock comic where he teams up with Mighty Man to fight Overtkill felt like stealing because I was getting 3 titles in one. That's what I want to pass on, that's what comics needs.

Exactly. I feel that GM books perform at the level they occupy. Not a knock. They're a sub-imprint of Image, and they sell accordingly.

I'm not bashing the Image founders, but yeah, it's apparent by year 3 the handshake deals started to fall apart. You'd need contracts to keep it together, so you don't get things like Spawn/Chapel. And you could have a pool of characters everyone could use, giving impression of larger universe.

True and very close, not quite what I'm getting at though. Energon is all licensed, and I think Ghost Machine is closer to Cliffhanger instead of year 1 Image. Good calls though!

Me neither. People I know are done arguing on socials, and this place planted some pretty weird flags early and drove people off.
