Dale Vince’s latest bright idea — giving even more subsidies to oil and gas giants and "optimising" production — is about as sensible as his plan to mass produce gas from grass.
Let's discuss!

We are witnessing an historic and dangerous escalation in the UK Government’s attack on the right to protest.
Oil Change International urges the UK Government to stop their draconian efforts to designate Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation.

Disappointing to see my club become the scab team. And I thought they had disappointed me the most they could with last season's performance #saintsfc #championship

Funny, I think we should root out Blue Labour, but we can't always get what we want can we

I’ve got just the thing for that £1.9bn…
Tony Blair is also a war criminal who illegally invaded Iraq after misleading parliament and the public so, not my preferred expert on climate issues
At the @iea.org Summit, the @ukgovernment.bsky.social greenlights the harmful HyNet CCS project.
CCS is an expensive failed technology with a 50-year record of hot air & hype. This project will do next to nothing for climate, jobs, #EnergySecurity, or people’s wallets.

1/ 🚨Important debate today in @ukparliament.parliament.uk about support for oil and gas workers in the transition away from fossil fuels! Here's a 🧵on what happened and what's needed:
First, @kirstysnp.bsky.social set the scene for the urgency of transition planning and funding NOW for our workers.
Also Rosebank?! (3/3)
We haven't won yet:
- The licensing ban isn't government policy yet, it's in a consultation
- The proposed licensing ban doesn't go far enough to prevent us blowing our fair share
- The use of "we" isn't movement generous given how many activists and campaigners not in JSO that have worked on this
I've not been into the a lot of the NGO movement bashing on JSO, and think they've played an incredibly important part of getting us to where we are. But this statement is both shit comms and shit strategy.

Israel has killed 400+ Palestinians in the deadliest 24 hrs in Gaza since 2023, violating its own ceasefire agreement. Netanyahu, his US allies, & the oil companies fueling this genocide have blood on their hands. The genocide in Palestine must end today. bit.ly/3FQKIuX
"At a time when climate leadership is popular among voters and essential for keeping below 1.5C, it is a stunning move from the leader of the Conservative Party that only recently was touting its climate credentials on the international stage.”

I don't agree with a lot of the detail in the CCCs report, but this is just an obnoxiously bad take that front-loads the "personal responsibility" narrative above all the actual clear suggestions for funded government action within the report
The CCC: Here's a detailed report on a pathway to net zero, urging the govt to act quicker and invest more

Trump’s plan to drive two million Palestinians out of Gaza so that the US can “take ownership” is a call for ethnic cleansing.
Our government must call it what it is and speak out against it.
Unfathomable that Starmer and Reeves are even considering this.
Consistently demonstrating the wrong instincts, unable to look at realities staring them in the face.
www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
This is ethnic cleansing and if the UK government can’t find it within themselves to say so then there’s really no point in them www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...
🇳🇿 The government of New Zealand has been labelled a “disgrace” after it released a new climate plan that barely requires it to reduce emissions between 2030 and 2035.
🗣 @oilchange.bsky.social's @rharris92.bsky.social said it was “retreating on ambition and shirking responsibility.”
Keir Starmer previously congratulated climate campaigners after Heathrow expansion was ruled illegal, saying "there is no more important challenge than the climate emergency"
Now his government says expansion is "badly needed"
New oil is over, pass it on
BREAKING 🚨: WE WON OUR CASE AGAINST ROSEBANK.
The court has ruled the oil field UNLAWFUL and Rosebank’s approval has been overturned.
This is a monumental victory in the fight for a liveable future for all.
Breaking: Uplift welcomes a very sensible decision from the Court of Session invalidating the decision to approve the Rosebank oil field. Rosebank is a disaster for the climate & will do next to nothing to create the prosperity & stability that the UK needs.

Incredibly disappointing to see the govt burn down their green plans on the alter of unsustainable economic growth.
Airport expansion will wipe out any carbon savings from their Clean Power Plan within 5 years, with no clear economic benefit.

Punchy stuff from @octopus.energy on the UK's £22bn investment in CCUS - saying it would be better spent on renewables. “Some of the stuff we’re doing is the equivalent of trying to defend the abacus industry once calculators had been invented." www.telegraph.co.uk/business/202...
It's not a great look for a government promising a green agenda. But hey, at least we can "grow" our way out of climate breakdown.
