The Autofrei Berlin (Car-Free Berlin) initiative is a citizen-driven proposal to create the world's largest car-free urban zone within Berlin’s central 88-square-kilometer S-Bahn-Ring. It aims to limit private vehicle traffic to 12 times a year per person, creating safer, cleaner streets.

Interesting 🤔 Where I grew up in New Jersey we had traffic circles and they are basically the same thing as roundabouts where I now live in the UK. I’ve heard of rotaries and assumed those were what other parts of the US called circles. Gonna ask ChatGPT now :)

Gen X American here - my high school in New Jersey in the late 1980s had some of those BBC microcomputers. We learned BASIC on those and had to bring our own cassette tapes to save our work on. So not completely ignorant.

Further thought would be for google maps to detect which train line you are travelling on and highlight that line so it is visually distinctive to all other features.

Would be nice if Google made the train lines a different colour to roads so they stand out more.
