Oh.. this is for a UE5 project.

Spent time this morning setting up a custom git(ea)+LFS server. When I get to the stage of hiring a contract level design I can collab easier.
#gamedev
To fellow #gamedev people: there are lots of events for making contacts and showing your game that are not in the US:
MIGS / Gamescom / Taipei Game Show / TGS / Develop / etc.
You do *not* need to attend GDC or DICE to survive.
Found this resource; share any you have! gameconfguide.com
Articles restart next week!
Fixed framerate definately allow replays and such be easier.
Lowering (display) framerate intentionally when explosions happen is a cool classical effect.
For multiplayer you can kinda have best of both worlds by having a seperate server "tick" rate and client display rate.
While things might not seem the best in the game dev space... if you are an indie game dev you have the best chance to capitialize on the money that is "being left on the table."
Especially if you are even somewhat average speed at producing content.
I am interested in the Kazeta console.
While it does become ruins you can get your old items back from the unsafe areas still through a series of time manpiulation quests.

Then there is a climax/crisis event where you can lose your "base" slot if you aren't active and if other players don't defend it.
You can retreive your stuff if you lose the slot in the "safe higher tax" area. It becomes ruins in the non safe area and content for other players.

For the MMO in question... if we were to make one... it would be cyclical.
You could gain rare weapons. But you also need the rare mats to repair them. They get broken but not lost.
There would be an "demon lord" that eventually arises and gets defeated.

Well... won grand finals in a 3v3 fighting game tournament. I mean I'm not EVO material but...
That should be enough for "market research" for making an MMO? I mean... some MMOs are like the retirement home of the FGC right?

Soo... indie MMOs might be the future? #gamedev
At least the backend might be easier to make.
Oh wow. We're cooked...
There is going to be a wave of indie MMOs that actually launches next year.
Soo... we almost got basic loop of "pick up, deliver, get paid, upgrade" done.
Now I need to do the "upgrade" part.
At the very least I have experience in playing games where spreadsheets are powerful.
Also put up the next chapter of the webnovel side story "Isekai Club"
sakurariver.ca/tales/isekai...
And... bsky is back! Yay!
Had to troubleshoot something with the "personal PDS".
Image of the a game dev system. There is too much information crammed into the screen to fit into 2000 characters. Looks very busy
Something I just got running on latest version of Ren'py. Going to redo at least the planning screen to look like a scrum-ish board.
So happy that we're on blue sky.
Can't downgrade a link unless the algo actually does it.
One last place to check for indie physical boxes.
In Akiba, looking for physical indie game boxes.
Couldn't find them anymore.
Used to be promo videos of them on storefronts.
Now I only have a last bastion to make physical box indie games. Knowing shops around me.

If my updates are sparse it's because I am on vacation in Japan.
New indie game devs really should just try implementing dumb small ideas so they learn fast and don't get too attached to them.
Then they know how to better implement the ideas they do care about.

*Computer part clerk*: How much RAM do you need?
*After Effects User*: Yes
If you wanna get your feet wet using a game engine, try doing something dumb and funny first.
Then implement it.
Then cry as it wins more awards than the project you worked hard on.
#indiedev #indiegamedev
Did a simple system in #unrealengine that auto-generates a list of sources and destinations for delivery based on where delivery location actors + tags are placed on map.
Though maybe I could do better with a regional actor and... sockets for locatons?

#renpy does have an awesome unmentioned feature
If you set it up right, you can hand the *scene* "source code" directly to editors. And they can edit it directly.
Why? It looks like a movie script format sometimes.
I do have major regrets about Fading Hearts's codebase.
"I'll never have to touch this code again!"
Boy was I wrong.

Reading debates about Solid principles of programming.
I tend to loosely follow it just because I am "lazy in the long term?"
Either that or I just don't want to keep track of too many things in my brain at the same time.
*goes back to doing UE blueprints*

Oh man... experinced an video game ending. Felt the emotions unresolved yet so good.
To the game devs that remember and can make games that move the heart, the future belongs to you.
You only need to look around you to see this is true.

@support.bsky.team Soo...
is there support for a plugin of some kind to auto-glaze/nightshade filter any image hosted on a PDS?
Retweet, share or like to help spread the word... and help this shameless attempt to get more followers. :) Probably won't work.
