Keep seeing this ad popping up on my timeline. It’s supposed to make you want to buy Gucci… but it just makes me think of Mandy!*
(*Which is hilarious, if you haven’t seen it yet!)
Sad news about the passing of Moya (Máire) Brennan of Clannad. Such a talented singer, songwriter and musician.
Never actually watched Harry's Game, but like many children of the 80s, the theme is etched in the memory, thanks to that beautiful, ethereal voice.

⛔️ Gridlock in Brecknock!
🐑 An obstruction on the mountain road, causing travel disruption between Brecon and Builth Wells...
☀️ It’s Wales’ warmest day of the year so far. The highest temperature of 25C was recorded at Mona on Anglesey. Feeling more like summer than spring… for a couple of days anyway!
Haha… and loved spending some time back in 1987 with The Communards, Squeeze, MARRS, PSBs, Alarm, Erasure, Housemartins and Bananarama… like a lot of the Friday night #TOTP crowd!
Definitely… what a top pop year!
Enjoying 1987 on #TOTP? Shameless Friday night plug for the Back to Now podcast, where we reminisce about loads of these hits!
Plenty of Curiosity, Madonna, Pogues, Pet Shop Boys and ABC chat, as Pop Rambler and I celebrate this top pop year on NOW 10!

⚠️ Watch out for Storm Dave over the Easter weekend.
A deep area of low-pressure will move in from the Atlantic, bringing strong winds across NW Wales, on Saturday night into Sunday.

🏴 When you work on the same programme by day… then randomly happen to sit by each other in a 33,000 seater-stadium later!
Lovely to bump into BBC Wales Today producer Sam at the football with my brother, Mike and sis-in-law, Sarah. Just a shame about the result…

🏴 Wonderful… and how long have we waited for that? Wales’ first home Six Nations win since February 2022!
Building on that performance in Ireland… a confident, optimistic end to the tournament against Italy. Forza! 🇮🇹

Weather fail spotted by the TV gallery. Wearing bright blue when there’s heavy rain… and merging into the map! ☔️
Never seen David Byrne live before… less a gig, more a superb spectacle of choreography!
From Once In A Lifetime, Psycho Killer, And She Was… to some fabulously avant-garde album tracks.
Not the same as it ever was… for a Monday night in Cardiff!

At last, it's March 1st. Happy start of meteorological spring, folks. 🌼
(Oh yes... and Happy St David's Day - Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus!) 🏴

Of all the Neil Sedaka tributes we’ll hear over the next few days, I look forward to hearing this song played once more. A beautiful melody. And the compassion in those lyrics…

Such sad news about Neil Sedaka. He was posting just a few days ago, excited to share new material with fans. And now he’s gone. Simply one of our greatest songwriters… making music until the end.

Cheers Iain. Great taking a trip back to 1987 with you. Getting lost in The Pet Shop Boys, Curiosity, ABC, Hue and Cry, Squeeze and The Communards once more… never can say goodbye!
Big fan of Squeeze… so a thrill to catch them live in Radio 2’s Piano Room. How do you make one of our greatest live bands sound even more incredible? Add the BBC concert orchestra!
Hourglass + Strings = Exquisite. 👏🏼👏🏼
(PS Big thanks Chris, Glenn, Phil & Vernon!)

A sad farewell to Sly Dunbar, four years after Robbie Shakespeare’s passing.
Sly and Robbie were pioneering reggae producers. They made so many great songs… but ‘Boops, Here To Go’ sounded like nothing else in 1987. Still sounds ahead of its time today.

On a chilly Sunday morning, wishing you a warm St Dwynwen's Day! ❤️
Well worth visiting Llanddwyn - the island of the patron saint - on Anglesey. Breathtakingly beautiful. 🏴

Thanks for the warm birthday wishes, folks. Lifted my spirits on a cold January day… otherwise known as ten years to the day Bowie died.⚡️
🔺 The Met Office has updated warnings for wind, snow and rain. AMBER and YELLOW warnings for Wales. And now a rare RED warning issued for wind for parts of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.

❄️ It’s a wintry day across Wales… and we’ve got just the soundtrack to go with that! Thanks for the brilliant song suggestions.
📻 Derek and I are on BBC Radio Wales, between 2 and 5pm. Or you can download and listen on BBC Sounds! ⬇️
