It's also kind of shitty that they took away hands free on the highway. That feature came before the Universal Hands Free rollout, so I expected it to stay.

Makes no sense for a lease, which is unfortunate. I would pay if I could transfer it to another leased vehicle. But without assurances there, pass.

It's about freaking time. Who the hell actually uses X anymore that has any credibility?

The shirt I want. "I can code without Claude."

Arrogant? Perhaps. Necessary? Absolutely.

Well, my #Java journey has come to an end. Today my role at Oracle has been terminated.

I’m open to any job leads y’all may have.

I'm literally in shock. You've been the heart, soul, and spirit of Java for some of its most special milestones. It just won't be the same without you at the helm. As a Tenderheart, I'm sending you my full heart beam. Thank you for all you've done and all you've inspired.

I'm probably going to try to go without it, but I also believe in investing in Rivian, so I'm still strongly considering it.

I still think the forced ads on ESPN+ are hurting viewership, though. I pay for streaming to avoid ads. So it feels like punishment. Also, we lost the 10sec rewind, so replays of goals are done.

@danarestia.bsky.social Really great interview with Paul. He does so much better in that format, and with questions that come from you, than on TV. I learned a ton.

Oh, absolutely. I'm just saying that when you consider a library, you consider the author. Trust the author first and foremost. If you don't, reject it. (Personally, I reject any library unless I absolutely cannot avoid using it).

There's a ton of Open Source developers out of work right now. The same developers that maintain the libraries and runtimes you all depend upon for your apps. The same libraries and runtimes all your AI code is built upon. Hire or sponsor someone today.

After decades of sitting at the computer a certain way, I'm trying to learn to sit without using my mouse as a brace. Wow, this is hard.

I think it's about discipline. When I put code into the editor, I study it carefully, regardless if I wrote it or someone/something else. That's now code that traces back to me. Good programmers will do this. Bad programmers won't, never have. It's about trusting the author, not just the code.

@danarestia.bsky.social I'm appalled by what ESPN has done with the ESPN+ app. They have absolutely ruined it. I love watching lacrosse, but this honestly might just turn me off. The ads are unacceptable, the seek is totally broken, and it's super glitchy. It's honestly amateur hour. So painful.

Very nice. Scheduling for service is still a bit disconnected, so nice to see them smoothing that out. I'm absolutely willing to be patient for an appointment (given the quality of the work), but what I don't want to spend a lot of time on is scheduling.

And it was a sweet dime pass.

The attendance of the game was crazy and honestly surprising for a Monday night. Second largest in history.

I do think Denver deserves to be top 20. For a lot of the game, they gave the Orange a run for their money and honestly looked sharper. I think they made a few key errors that kept them from the W, but those were forgivable from a ranking perspective.

@danarestia.bsky.social That was my first time seeing Spallina play in person. I understand now why he confuses so many people. He's certainly a very good player, but he's just no CJ Kirst. He also rubs other players. At one point, he chirpped the entire Denver bench, and had a few goes at the refs.

Whoever is running GitLab is trying their hardest to ruin its reputation. What the hell are you doing over there? Someone please take control of this ship!!

I swear I'm going to leave GitLab if they keep popping up the GitLab Duo sidebar. Fuck you and horse you road in on you asshats. I don't want your fucking agent!

The GitLab Duo sidebar pops up every page refresh, no matter how many times you close it. This is absolutely appalling and well below my expectations for GitLab. Whatever they are doing over there, they need to stop.

And what is with GitLab Duo being forced down our throats?!? Everything is just getting more terrible by the day, I swear.

With absolutely no notice, GitLab renamed Issues to Work Items. Not only do I hate it, it's extremely confusing for new and existing contributors alike. Terminology that has been used for decades has now been changed for no justifiable reason. Please change it back!

Can we *please* add a way to get the parameter names of a function reliably in JavaScript? Ruby is way ahead here. Way ahead.

For me to consider an R2, I really need that 350+ range. But I'd definitely be looking at the Premium. Hopefully that will converge in time. If not, another R1 for me likely. But I'm probably an outlier. And I still need to see the R2 in person. I also know a bunch of people who would prefer the R2.

I wouldn't blame them if they didn't. The value of the $ doesn't stand still. 48K seems like typical inflation and we have a broken government increase. But I do think if they can archive it, they still should. It's not about promises (because no one keeps them anymore), just about moving vehicles.

I would literally hurl.
