Ludlow is the greenest town in Shropshire according to Centre for Sustainable Energy, and independent environmental charity. Taking into account travel, food, goods & services and homes, Ludlow households are responsible for fewer carbon emissions than other towns

That's not the Onny or the Clun. Severn?

A major impact of this is is that we no longer have a five year land supply or a local planning rulebook. That means a near free for all in housebuilding. A plan will have to take on the government's new housing targets, way above what developers want to build. They will chose green fields

Local planning rules are scrapped after major fail by Shropshire Council A local plan controls where developments go and how much can be built. Shropshire’s new local plan has now been summarily rejected by the planning inspectorate. This leaves Shropshire unprotected. …

In a major fail by the Tories on Shropshire Council, planning inspectors told the council to scrap its new local plan. The Tories did not listen to what they were being told and did not give planners enough resources. The inspectors lost confidence in the council.

Rights of Rivers – Love Our Ouse

Lewes Council in Sussex recognised the legal rights of the River Ouse. A Charter of Rights sets out the relationship between people & nature including the right to biodiversity & to be free from damaging pollution. This is something we need for the Severn & catchment loveourouse.org/rights-of-ri...

Among the schemes brought to a halt by the Musk/Trump attack on USAID are a malaria prevention initiative and the first trials of an HIV vaccine. They have no regard for human life

Plans have been published for a pyrolysis unit that will burn wood waste in Ludlow. It is the right thing to do but there needs to be more info on the technical details. andybodders.co.uk/2025/02/02/p...

At the end of the 18th Century “entanglement” was sometimes used to describe a commitment or a complex relationship. The word should now be repurposed to describe the point when a fun relationship begins to get serious and a bit complicated.

Been there, done that 😆

Booking for household recycling centres – please sign petition to end this Shropshire Council nonsense There has always been something therapeutic about going to the neighbourhood tip. Getting rid of the old in anticipation of the new, or just decluttering or discarding when downsizing or moving hou…

Shropshire Council's booking system to use household recycling centres is bureaucratic and unnecessary. We are raising a petition to scrap it.

The scandalous mistake we all make every year at Christmas Christmas is the perfect storm for food waste, writes Felix Project CEO Charlotte Hill. But as tempting as the treats, meats and trimmings may be, we all have a part to play in curbing this issue

Very important points

Merry Christmas Chrissie. Still on council work but go back to 19th century tomorrow. How's your book xx

Yet again Wham’s Last Christmas makes it to the top of the charts. It does nothing for me. My top 5 Christmas ditties are:
1. Fairy Tale of New York
2. Merry Christmas Everybody
3. I wish it could be Christmas Everyday
4. Christmas in Sarajevo
5. Do They Know It's Christmas?

Can you spare a minute to help this campaign? Save the Onny - Stop the Pipe

Severn Trent can't discharge more sewage and nitrates in the protected Clun river. It wants a pipeline to dump sewage in the Onny because it doesn't have legal protection. So the Onny and Ludlow gets it! Please sign the petition against this abusive madness.

The Assisted Dying Bill is one of the most important measures of our age. And the Ayes have it, 330 to 275 in favour of the bill progressing to committee stage. It shows that our elected MPs can tackle the biggest issues

Ludlow to Shrewsbury 435 bus service will be subject to delays and some cancellations for days As has been well publicised, a truck crashed into the Three Fishes pub at 5.30am on Monday morning. This severely damaged the pub and partly demolished the house next to the Hong Kong City takeaway…

I fear for the survival of the 435 Ludlow Shrewsbury bus service after Monday's accident at Bayston Hill. Bus runs are having to be cancelled and services heavily delayed by the A49 lane closure. This could undermine the route's viability which is not subsidised.

Ludlow has been having a clean up over the last couple of weeks. 40 plus volunteers used the town centre last week. The clean up of the Eco Park is nearly complete. Just some panels to repair on the Eco Park and paint up as mini-murals

Hi. I am a refugee from Twitter. I have used that place less and less and don't won't to be on an Elon Musk platform. Twitter has become like a Republican Party rally addressed by Donald Trump. I'm Shropshire Councillor for Ludlow North also writing history. My council blog is at andybodders.co.uk
