Every time he speaks he says something ridiculous and juvenile. He then goes on to say something even more juvenile and ridiculous.

Labour must stop channelling Reform and unite with progressives. That’s the lesson from Gorton and Denton | Sadiq Khan The threat to the party in some parts of our country is now existential. But we can progress, as we have in London, by being bold and strong in our core beliefs, says London mayor Sadiq Khan

"Trying to compete with Reform not only feels inauthentic... but a betrayal of what Labour is supposed to represent. We must address the concerns and fears of voters, not play on them."

Damning stuff from Sadiq Khan

I’m not saying you are implying anything. I was just pointing out the problem with what you described.

He presumably felt differently to you and wanted to attend the awards ceremony.

The problem with this logic is that you are effectively telling the person with the disability they should never leave home to avoid offending others.

And do you agree that this has been caused in large part by the decisions and actions of the Israeli govt?

There appear to have been lots of Palestinians killed in Gaza and lots not getting enough to eat. Do you agree with that @joe-sanders.bsky.social ?

I suspect they would just look at your skin colour and make a decision.

The drivel about ancestry and lineage makes it pretty clear what their actual agenda is.

Decimalisation Britain was one of the last countries to go decimal – and had Margaret Thatcher not abolished the Metrication Board, we might have abandoned miles and pints...

This is an interesting podcast on the introduction of decimal currency in the UK

I and much of my friend group were born in the early seventies, pre decimal currency is like a fever dream from a different millennia. It seems inconceivable people used it.

Radio 4 adapted The Weirdstone of Brisingamen awhile ago

I’d love a film or TV adaptation. Although the adaptation of my other child hood faves The Crystal Cave and The Dark is Rising were really very poor

Dog ownership seems like a good criteria to me. We can rule out Kristi Noem from any leadership position on that basis.

If only there was some sort of precedent for a UK party massively losing an election, going more extreme and remaining out of power until they shift back to the centre.

It’s been available in the UK for a while, but only privately -my daughter had it 10 years ago. It’s only now being made available on the NHS as part of the standard set of vaccinations children here get.

A Labour leader who had enthusiastically campaigned for Remain might have changed the entire dynamic of the era. I voted Labour in both elections, I liked both of the manifestos. I never liked Corbyn and agree that he got much abuse, as have many Labour leaders.

I mean I think it’s pretty likely is he is that unpopular. He lost two elections.
