Well, it concerns me that so much AI slop must be making the slush piles even bigger, but yes.

The amount of writing comps, opportunities, agents and publishers I've seen carefully and politely phrase the sentiment "We're looking for REAL artists, not AI talent-vacuums."

It's Stephen Lawrence Day. Everyone should familiarise themselves with the way he, Duwayne Brooks and his family were failed by the state. Crooked police, lawyers, press and politician. It's more corrupt than you remember, I promise you that

Husband thinks I'm hilariously cartoonish because I fluff my pillow before getting into bed. Tell him he's wrong, and fluffing is CORRECT.

Proud Pink Sky — Redfern Jon Barrett About Redfern Jon Barrett's novel 'Proud Pink Sky' – an ambitopia set in the world's first gay state

It looks like Stonewall UK has abandoned trans folk – but gay people in power selling out their BTQ+ cousins isn't new.

I wrote a novel about it! If you haven't read it yet, PROUD PINK SKY explores trans lives in the world's first gay state.

Check it out! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Does everyone remember Alex Bramham? The guy who was kicked out of a pride march cos he showed up in an LGB alliance t-shirt?

Transphobes in the press made a big deal about it at the time, about how it showed how intolerant the left is etc...

He's now a branch leader of the fascist NRP

Attempting an air of intrigue so suffice it to say I'm hurtling southwards so as to traverse a body of water and end up slightly further south.

Stone steps between red-brick buildings (and a bricked-up cave)

Stone steps between red-brick buildings (and a bricked-up cave)

A plaque on one of the walls:

Long Stairs underwent a programme of restoration in 2025 thanks to the years of hard work and dedication of Janine Tanner, who along with Peter Smith and a group of volunteers and supporters maintained Long Stairs and raised over £20,000 which enabled these medieval steps to be made safe and to be brought back into use as a visitor attraction. Work was undertaken by Beech Restoration Ltd.

thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that has."

Medieval staircase opened for the first time in a billion years, you say? I'm there!!

No, as in, they have no capability of online ordering. Could get a pal to go in and request it, I guess.

Omg, that's awful! Waterstones are usually very supportive, unless something is self-published and/or from a supplier they have trouble dealing with. They've been very good to me (unlike most of the indies).

Don't have the means to do that with this place!

Kinda demoralising when the local queer shop that stocks books still doesn't stock the queer book by a certain local queer author after I've emailed them twice about it over the past year. 🫠

Stealing from others to distract with a phony display while setting the country on fire? Yep, sounds like a Reform MP.

Yes, I know, we have to separate the art from the artist. But you can always tell when the artist is thirsty.
