Happy Birthday Samwise Gamgee!
Born on 6 April in 1380 (by Shire-reckoning), Sam supported Frodo all the way to Mount Doom. He fathered 13 children, was Mayor of the Shire for 49 years, and sailed West after the death of his wife Rosie.

Every year, hundreds of people walk silently through the streets of Minneapolis⦠looking at the windows of the houses.
It's the Wedge Cat Tour: the residents put the cats in the window and the crowd stops to admire them.

Looks like my pinky fretting hand mobility is almost back, so I can once again play my beloved minor 9th chords, and even regular minor barres, phew!
Actually the biggest struggle, especially in times when it feels there's a lot on the line
Sometimes after work you just have to lay yourself down & put on an Oblivion ambient ost mix in the background & be thankful for how far you've come

Really loving Moon Gates by Aura Merlin. Bringing me back to the feeling of comfortably exploring some magical open world. It's enchanting & perfect.

The cats agree about slowing down, maybe not 15 hrs of sleep a day slowing down but yes, slowing down
Grimly, injured my right hand yesterday, a borderline fracture it seems. Music is definitely out the window for a bit. But the silver lining is that it's impetus to slow down & appreciate things despite the pain, & maybe take a step back to think about artistic direction.

It got shat on a lot but I at least had fun seeing it with a friend back when it released. If there's any other dramatization of those events I don't know of it, so it was pretty novel seeing one for the first time.
As many Tolkien fans would say, it's nearly inexpressible how much his works enriched my life, year after year his characters & stories continue to offer comfort & inspiration. Forever thankful to be born at a time to have read his works.

This song really does hit when you're going through it. Well, I'm not currently but I imagine it does - what a singer! I only recently discovered but I believe the ~20 minutes of music I've written for the next Veln album has at least one Pendergrass type chord in it.
