30 years ago today.

Sad to hear of the passing of Robert Hopkins, aged only 64.

A Bluenose through and through, it was in B6 where he started, winning a prestigious FA Youth Cup with Villa.

It's at his beloved Blues though where he'll be most fondly remembered, a fine winger and cult hero.

Rest in peace, Hoppy.

Hi Kev, I haven't, but from 24/7 posting for years ( 😂) on everything from football to politics to life, I've found myself choosing to not post due to bots, increased racism and ideas now mainstreamed that Hitler would have blushed at.

Makes it pretty difficult in that context.

I think clubs are run by humans and humans are wooed by likes, affirmations and numbers, that's what underpins social media ultimately. We can't be far away from a dam bursting moment in X though as brands endorsing naked racism, sexism, fascism isn't a good look!

Even the big football accounts and many pundits (me included) aren't posting football content anymore, it feels inappropriate and shallow. So I'll add an odd tweet or retweet and that's it. I just watch and despair seeing lies told as truths and truly heinous views normalised.

Twitter has been beyond evil for several years now but I stayed to try to fight and challenge and rabble rouse as much as possible.

It's obvious though that it was bought to spread lies and disinformation and spew propaganda for several vested interests.

It's surreal and frightening to watch.

Delighted to have been verified by Bluesky, maybe that's the push I need to wean off the dopamine of watching my 20 year Twitter account burn under the flames of the unhinged, racist, fascist and genuinely evil.
