It's not a 1:1 comparison; it can't be. But when you've seen your neighbors have to start over with nothing – with no home, no clothes, no photos, no toothbrushes – and then you hear about another family, strangers to you but in that same predicament, AND they had to cross an ocean to get here?

Because I don't know how to ever get over seeing *houses* picked up and thrown like dice. It's like staring into Grand Canyon for the first time. I'm not sure we're *supposed* to get over it.

But that feeling that comes with it, the complete and total unmooring of life – that part I think we get.
