My idea is that everyone keeps their cards secret until the moment of the game, show it only to the ref, they decide how it plays and is a secret to everyone else.
Either that or secret to everybody and ref has to wing it with the rules as their played

I always never try to get a bid until late in the game, try to bid only when I feel like someone will bid higher.
When I bid, everyone’s spent yet everything is so cheap.
