It's really baffling it shipped. I'm guessing no one at Apple uses it. Also annoyed to learn you can't change system icons in Tahoe. Preview is driving me nuts. I hope all the exposure you and your fellow pundits have given the awful MacOS UI evolution leads to change.

3 American soldiers have now been killed because the president wants you to stop thinking about all the children he raped.

Fair. It feels like they spent all their engineering efforts making APIs for smart suggestions and then just handed the app development over to an intern who has no experience or appreciation for the act of writing. I'll be sticking to DayOne - Journal is just a terrible app.
Some issues are aesthetic, like poor spacing between paragraphs and others are insane things like you can't paste into it without losing bulleted lists and adding media into posts is like a trip back to Word in the 90's. Super sluggish resizing that is more likely crash the app then function.
This is amazing.

@gruber.foo i remember somewhere you saying the only thing new in Tahoe that was of any interest was Journal, but since you can do it via iPhone mirroring there was no need. I want you to upgrade to Tahoe so you can experience how shit Journal is on MacOS. Just a trash program.

@alexanderobenauer.com I realize that you no longer support it, but I am still using MailPilot as my default mail app, and recently migrated to a new Mac. I was wondering if there's anyway to download 4.25, as the download once logged in to my account, only has 4.19 and the updated no longer works.
@gruber.foo As a Canadian who was relying on Starlink in a remote area, we just got actual fibre internet and it only took 2 days for me to decide to do away with Starlink. It's inconsistent, slow and twice as expensive as fibre. And also, fuck Musk.
Love the idea, but $50 as the cheapest shipping option to ship to a major Canadian city is obscene. Hopefully you guys can get a better international shipper at some point.
The image is a screenshot of a post on X by a user named Karina Vinnikova (@KarinaVinnikova ), followed by a reply from Moxie Marlinspike (@moxie ). Karina Vinnikova's post reads: "The founder of Signal, ladies and gentlemen." There is a "Follow back" button visible next to the username. Moxie Marlinspike's reply reads: "There are so many great reasons to be on Signal. Now including the opportunity for the vice president of America to randomly add you to a group chat for coordination of sensitive military operations. Don’t sleep on this opportunity…."
Never miss a golden promo oppy.
Trump’s betting Canada will fold, but this is a country that spent 30 years fighting Denmark over a rock in the Arctic just for the principle of it.
Imagine caring more about the stock market than people, only to tank the stock market because of you fucked over the people.
AOC: It's really because Republicans— they’re very thin skinned and they're very sensitive, and their feelings are very easily hurt. And so they have to vote on censure resolutions.
A screenshot of a conversation on X. The first post by The Malicious Maestro Morgan reads: 'So you think an American citizen convicted of a felony 30 times should be deported?' The reply by Mind Doctor, verified with a blue checkmark, reads: 'Yes, you want one of them to possibly target one of our family members out on the streets? I want safer streets for innocent people. This is the way we achieve that.' The Malicious Maestro Morgan responds: 'Donald Trump was convicted 34 times.'
I need to report a murder.

CARTOON OF THE DAY
“In 150 characters or less” by @nikitagill.bsky.social
Inauguration Day.
We said goodbye to our little girl (15 years old) in our arms Saturday night. I'm still one ragged breath from losing it in sadness. They leave paw sizes holes in our hearts. My thoughts are with you and yours. As they are with mine.
For today's Boston Globe, the cartoon I'd wished I'd never have to draw:
