Sadly, this Subcommander’s bedtime has gotten earlier as he’s get older, but thanks for the mention!

The bird of prey? I know there was an issue hiring modelmaker Wah Chang because he wasn’t in the prop masters union. These miniatures are big, I don’t see how it could’ve been lost. Perhaps it was damaged, but this was an expensive item! I suspect Wah Chang took it back, but I don’t know for sure.
I wish!
Nice work, gentlemen
Fascinating!
for real??
My favorite Star Trek aliens are the Gorn and the Horta
Helps when you’re married to the casting director
Haha he knew what he was signing up for
Looking forward to a bright future in Starfleet!
Wednesday evening…
I’m really enjoying these movie threads you’re doing 🖖🏻
Eddie Egan, who worked at Paramount, told me it was a coincidence John Winston returned and it was not something they planned. But it’s so great to see him reappear! If only we’d had Mr. Leslie and Mr. Hadley too…
It’s amazing the original series was as consistent as it was in some ways, and I give it a pass with nitpicks like this. but it’s always been funny to me that that there’s a possible date discrepancy in *the same movie.*
In fact he says it twice: he also mentions that his followers have sworn to live and died his command 200 years before Terrell was born. This matches up with Space Seed, where it’s said he was asleep for “two centuries.” In that episode it’s established he ruled from 1992-1996…
The funny thing about this is that when Khan appears later in the film he says he was a “prince” on Earth *two hundred* years ago, which would imply that they are in the 22nd century, not the 23rd. I don’t really mind inconsistencies like that, but they do tickle me sometimes.
I have a fondness for this episode… 😈
The "Complete Adventure" long thin boxset for Star Trek: The Motion Picture: The Director's Edition.
#TrekADay
Because I've got an ill defined family event tomorrow, hedging my bets by getting Star Trek The Motion Picture The Director's Edition in now!
Obviously I've gone original versions up till now, but the Director's cut is by far, and a massively long way, the best version.
it was cool that time when spock went to the planet of living machines aka CYBERTRON…
There's one final triad of alien planet (surface) paintings by Mike Minor in #StarTrekTOS' "Is There in Truth no Beauty" but we sadly only see the bottom one (featuring a cool alien pyramid) and the bottom of the middle one (it's...it's...green!). I'm sure the label says "Aldebaran V". 🧵 1/2
Entertaining podcast that I thoroughly recommend. I love King Kong and of course The Planet of the Titans is a weird detour in Treks that never happened: good listening!
Geordi LaForge and Montgomery Scott from Relics
They were very different Engineers, but I like them both
Probably not
Maybe?
How many people here are going to the 60th Anniversary in Vegas this summer?
