A black mug from Matilda: The Musical, full of hot chocolate and a large number of small multicoloured marshmallows. There is a full layer, but you can see the hot chocolate peeking through.
The same mug, with many more marshmallows. You cannot see any hot chocolate and the marshmallows have formed a mountain that rises higher than the lip of the mug.
Adulthood is having as many marshmallows as you want.
Not based on No Kings. A separate event, though I wouldn't be surprised if the date was arranged to align.
MARCH TOGETHER AGAINST THE FAR RIGHT LONDON 28 MARCH 2026
Nope. A coalition that includes Stand Up to Racism. Hundreds of thousands showed up; organised and run by Brits.
"But AI uses em dashes and semi-colons and figures of speech, so you can't use them in your--"
Let me stop you right there. I don't give a damn what AI does. It will never impact the way I write. Ever. Nothing is less relevant to me than generative AI "writing" tendencies.
THIS IS WHY WE CHOOSE THE BEAR...
Beavers not Billionaires
BLAME MISOGYNY NOT MIGRANTS Skapegoating isn't safety NO FEMINISM without ANTI-RACISM
NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO GIVE A FUCK UNITY BUILDS COMMUNITY
More placards:
A placard reading "Gilead -- Sponsored by Reform UK" with a Handmaid's Tale bonnet in the background.
A placard of a jar of Marmite labeled "Reject Hate" and the text "SPREAD LOVE" above it.
A placard reading "JOBS AND HOMES NOT RACISM"
USians seemed confused: the march in London wasn't for #NoKings. It was #TogetherAlliance Against the Far Right. They suck here too.
Four UK Starburst: a purple Blackcurrant flavour, a green Lemon & Lime flavour, an orange Orange flavour and a red Strawberry flavour. A bag behind that claims to contain "Original" Starburst. This is a lie.
Wtf is this, UK?
"would be"
he's giving the order. the declaration itself is a war crime (...even if I remain suspicious Hegseth has no idea what it means to give no quarter). you can't just comment from the sidelines, you have to actually do something.
POSSIBLE NEW IDIOMS:
sharpen the zig, sharpen the zag
staircase full of petticoat fluffers
chest like a pillow & a face like a wolf
& THAT’S a Bratislava goodbye
one eye on the flapjacks, one eye on the bellhop
g-g-g-g-g-gong it!
blah blah blah & your zipper’s undone
Julius your Caesar 😉
"fucking hell man...it's embarrassing to be an american citizen"
The question is always "what if a kid is wrongfully transitioned" and never "what if a trans kid is denied the ability to transition and endures years of excruciating dysphoria and has to have multiple surgeries later in life to fix the issues caused by going through the wrong puberty."

I'm listening to a new audiobook and having trouble getting into it. But worse than that, I can't figure out if the issue is the writing, the translation, or the audiobook narrator. Recently listened to a book narrated by John Hopkins, who was *excellent*. This one, maybe not.
What's the best one?
I have no idea what Myst is. I will definitely watch.
America: [1776-?] Some great ideas marred by poor direction and unlikable characters. Greed, bigotry, and gratuitous violence. ★★☆☆☆
When there are no consequences for the last bad thing, you'll get a next worse thing.
Tone doesn't communicate well via text, but I'm actually just confused. I have seen the clip a bunch of places, but didn't find it newsworthy then or now. I'm genuinely surprised someone would think it needs *more* attention. I tried to communicate why it feels so banal to me - guess it didn't work.
A 2021 survey found that about ~65% of Americans believe aliens exist. Only 52% of Americans believe in human-driven climate change (U Chicago 2025). Obama agreeing with 2/3 of the country isn't a revelation.
Um...are you talking about Obama saying aliens "are real, but I haven't seen them"? Basically agreeing with the Drake equation (proposed in 1961)? What's there to talk about? It's not news for a former president to have scientific views.
if I ran for parliament promising to leave all my decision-making to a magic 8ball it would be functionally equivalent to this, but the headline wouldn't be "magic 8ball runs for parliament"
I asked him why and he said, "I don't know. I'd have to ask someone from quantum field theory." So probably not very satisfying, but from your starting point re: relationship between dimensions, it's likely that if that could be, someone would have the math to support it.
From my partner (not in quantum field theory): the reason that the theory is they're "rolled up small" is because that is what is shown to be mathematically possible. What you're suggesting probably hasn't been suggested because it's probably not mathematically possible.
Picked my partner's brain; he thinks it's field-specific. There are way more astronomers on bsky because visual media engages more and can communicate more info in fewer chars, while quantum field theory, for example, has a small potential audience and is v challenging to communicate in this format.
I'd say post it. *Somebody* will see it.
Was it more prevalent on X, suggestion a migration issue, or is this a short form platform issue broadly? Most physicists I know want more nuance than 240 chars offers.
My partner is a physicist and I'm pretty sure it's because he has very large teams he's regularly talking to; there isn't such a desire to send thoughts "into the ether", as it were, if you can just text or email an expert. (He also doesn't use bsky much in general, which may be a bigger factor.)

Don't congratulate John Roberts or the Supreme Court.
Congratulate Rick Woldenberg, the Chicago-area leader of Learning Resources, an educadtional toy company that had the courage to sue the president of the United States to save his family business.
As well as everyone else who stepped up.
