today I am loving the UN Geneva Archives platform which hosts the complete League of Nations archives, digitised, entirely free

some archive digitisation programs are very clunky & hard to use, this is immaculate & has an incredibly user friendly interface + excellent metadata

Dr. Michael Franczak, Senior Researcher at UNU-CPR, sits down with Marc Uzan, Executive Director of the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee, to explore the origins, innovations, and impact of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the New Development Bank (NDB).

They explored the challenges facing the UN system, including institutional silos and unequal representation. They stressed the opportunities created by current geopolitical trends, and the value of alliances and innovation to address contemporary global challenges.

La visite à la Maison-Blanche a coûté 85 000 $ US Les premiers ministres des provinces et territoires ont eu recours aux services d’un lobbyiste proche de l’un des fils du président américain.

Great quotes here from a Canadian official — viewing the provincial premiers as rubes who went to DC, learned it’s not actually that easy dealing with Trump, paid $85,000 for a meeting with senior-mid-level staff, got publicly ridiculed after by that Trump staff

Large or small - it is such a good way to stimulate discussion!

I've used survey tools before for in-class writing/reflection/working but this is the first time I've been able to use it with a larger sample size and for actual real-time issues like the LPC leadership race. It is so fun.

We're only on week 3 but I'm finding them to be super engaged and sharp! We talk about the short-answers they write in and we also like to look at the difference between their polling results and published poll results. It also makes for amazing teaching feedback for me.

Some surveys are short because I'm mostly lecturing. Some surveys are long because I give them lots of time to write/talk to their neighbour. And some provoke a lot of moderated discussion.

A little cross post: I have my 200 Canadian politics students do a survey every class. It contains some short-answer questions that they have to go and research something online, some general reflection/opportunity for opinions on course content, and then some #cdnpoli polling Qs.

I'm finishing up my courses at Queen's (these students are a joy!) this winter & then on to a new adventure. In May, I'm joining the UN University's Center for Policy Research! After going to UNU's workshop this week, we will be moving to NYC in May (hence the speed wedding🥰)

In the interest of posting more, I did something else besides writing and teaching recently (though it did feature reading) ☺️

Wikipedia is the last major, visible platform for facts that they can’t buy. The attacks are going to be merciless.

I've hopefully got two journal articles coming out that were the product of some 2025 hard work and a couple of book chapters!

One book chapter is already here: link.springer.com/chapter/10.1...
