I really wouldn't worry about the grumblers. It's a sweet clue and nowt wrong with "stupid" – it's been used a zillion times both pre and post. Supply – always a winner – is lovely though. Still, that would have probably attracted the odd baffled moan over there too! Stick to your guns mate.

Such an odd, depressingly British take, I 100pc agree. Wardle famously could have wangled far more for Wordle if he'd wanted. It's clearly never been about money & fame for him.
