This was made to honour a coop moment a friend and I had in Dark Souls 3, but I could not decide what my avatar should be or where to put it (the Greninja is him, skating the dragon boss while I was running around the level almost dying to snake mobs).

Yes I have badges. They are even already part of my paintings.

The official badges are made of Orichalcum, a wonder metal that only the conclave smiths and Inquisition know how to forge.

The feathers remain as the characteristic indicator of rank within the guild my characters work in. That guild master is a corviknight too, so it fits.

My setting has a Guild conclave, a sort of international Guild of Guilds (or explorer corps). Being a guild member gives you important privileges and obligations in this setting which is why a somewhat unified badge system is needed, and badge forgeries need to be super hard to make.

These badges were only for one guild, which is why it did not end up working as a system. If you go to a far away land where nobody knows about your guild, how can they tell from these feather pins that you are a guild member?

Because having people in the city is kinda the point.

Arch Dragon Peak moment

My first design for guild badges. The idea was that the rank would be shown by the number of Corviknight feathers, which are awarded by the guild leader. But when trying to come up with a unified guild system it seemed too specialised, so I tossed that Idea and gave the guild proper badges.

I wanted to draw a city scape with people, but I figured out that I cannot draw people at all so I kinda stopped. ☠️Big shame!

I try to keep that in mind when starting the next drawing, but I tend to screw around the canvas a lot so I end up wasting lots of frames doing nothing.
