So when I travel I love buying the cigarettes in the countries I’m hanging out in.

Thinking I should start bringing American cigarettes to share with the people I meet out there

They are haptic controls that were never meant to be brought into the bedroom. Still, the possibilities of new sensations and digital feedback were too tempting to resist.

Finally releasing this from Patreon, first posted there last June. You can find the nude alt there. ⚡️

Volunteers turn a fan's recordings of 10,000 concerts into an online treasure trove In 1989, an up-and-coming rock band from Washington called Nirvana played in Chicago for the first time at a club called Dreamerz.

A group of devoted volunteers is methodically researching, cataloging and digitizing more than 10,000 concerts that one music fan recorded over four decades.

People often think it’s a binary but it’s really more of a jojo power hexagon. Contextual silliness

It is never worth visiting a chain restaurant if there is even one family run joint in the vicinity. Even if it’s bad it will be memorable, but often it’s better than the mid offerings at your average Sysco slop shop.

I now do everything in my power to order directly from responsible companies and avoid the Amazon go-between. It's been working out well. My Amazon purchases are down 95% in recent months. I've even started to buy more books from @bookshop.org who now has their own e-reader app I use on my phone.

Think I’ll start packing my nice fountain pen and a book of stamps with me more often. Something about travel reminds me of those I care about, and it’s nice to write to them.

"Magataotao" on Twitter writes: "I am Catholic. This👇is not my Pope."

Attached is a video of the Pope saying that we should search for peace and reject war.

A community note under their tweet says: "You are not a Catholic if you do not accept the Pope, but rather a schismatic.

Canon 751: “Schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff,” ie. the Pope.

Drawing of a long-legged crab titled "arthropod". Below it is a nearly identical drawing titled "anthropod," where the crab has human legs and hands instead of crabby limbs.

Screenshot of words that says, “When the English and French names of a food product share a word, Canadian bilingual labelling will sometimes just smoosh them together to save space.
For example, curds in cream is known as "cottage cheese" in English and "fromage cottage" in French, so the bilingual label will often read
"fromage cottage cheese"
Predictably, some people jokingly squish this together even further to yield "frottage cheese" - and critically, not everyone who does this is aware that "frottage" is a real word.
You wouldn't expect the dairy aisle to be the site of regular "do they know?" moments, and yet.”
