447/460 Sandilands: Croydon Tram. Finally The Alma Tavern is open. It’s actually not bad. Dunno why you’d sit outside and watch the traffic but the insides pretty decent. I imagine it will be less decent in 5 hours time when Crystal Palace have thrown away a 3 goal lead. Half cider £2.65 Rating 3/5

I was tempted to repeat the horribly misogynistic tram sex story he told me, but he has a good job and could be cancelled. Porter & Sorter is great though. Half cider £2.90 Rating 4/5

442/460 Church Street: Croydon Tram. All go here as Pound Stores battles it out with Poundstretcher, and a convenience store sells live crabs. The Dog, Croydons oldest pub is a nice surprise, but calling itself a proper pub for proper people is a bit League of Gentlemen. Half cider £3:35 Rating 3/5

441/460 George Street: Croydon Tram. Fucks sake, the pub at Sandilands opens at 3 and the one on Lebanon Road opens at 4! Who’d have thought the people of Croydon were too busy for drinking. You can always rely on a Wetherspoons though, predictably packed at 1:30pm. Half cider = £1.45 Rating 2/5

Fuck me they cost £4mill!All this way for a bloody Spoons The Gate Clock, so I make the most of it and go for a half at The Spanish Galleon too which is closest to a different exit. 439/460 Birkbeck: Croydon Tram. Next to station is Grace’s. Named after WG Grace who’s buried in the cemetery next door. As is Thomas Crapper and Samuel Rowbottom, credited with the modern revival of the flat earth theory. So he’s the reason your builder is insane. Half cider £2.60 Rating 2/5
