Official: Cubs announced 6-year extension with second baseman Nico Hoerner this morning.

Hoerner now has the potential to be in a Cubs uniform for 14 seasons — something only 11 players in franchise history can claim. Four of them (Banks, Sandberg, Santo and Williams) have statues at Wrigley Field.

On the Blackhawks’ long-awaited flight home tonight, Connor Bedard will look down not only at the Michigan countryside but also at the entire NHL.
