A Complete Unknown is a must-see movie for people who love music. Saw it tonight and I’m ready to watch it again.

Carry-On on Netflix may be the worst movie I’ve seen since watching Killdozer 50 years ago.

Trying to come up with a good movie to watch with the family on Christmas. How about Glengarry Glen Ross?

Disagree. Maybe they’ll be better in 2025, but they haven’t been good in five years

This is not to pick on Santa Anita, but in my opinion it is ridiculous for the Graded Stakes Committee to designate three races RESTRICTED TO 3-YEAR-OLDS this late in the year as Grade 1. No other country in the world does this. Make them all 3&up and see if they are G1 worthy.

But don’t you miss it - just a little?

I haven’t lived in Illinois since 1979 but it’s hard to toss aside loyalties to the sports teams you grew up supporting. Having said that, I don’t think I can remember a more dismal time for Chicago sports: Bears, Cubs, White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks all stink.

If anyone is interested in this foldout poster from JRA (Deep Impact on one side, Equinox on the other), it’s free to the first person who can name the most recent U.S.-trained winner of the Japan Cup.

In golf, you can easily find lists of players with the most victories in majors, or in baseball find out who has the most post-season home runs.

In horse racing, what trainers have won the most Grade 1 races or graded stakes all time?

Maybe I’m the only who cares about this stuff. (End)

One example: Flavien Prat will likely break Jerry Bailey’s single-season graded stakes win record of 55 today in the Los Alamitos Futurity. But who held the record before Bailey, and who are the top 10 single season (or career) graded stakes-winning jockeys or trainers? That info is not available.

Something that’s bothered me about horse racing is its lax record-keeping. DRF did a fairly good job over the years before handing the reins over to Equibase 30 years ago, but Equibase has not made many advancements.

Del Mar beach house asks $75M in market’s priciest listing The newly built beachfront mansion designed by William Hefner sits on land previously untouched for almost 100 years.

Wow! This is even more than Coolmore paid for Fusaichi Pegasus in 2000.

Voss: It’s Almost Like Veterinarians Know What They’re Doing Has horse racing forgotten the cautionary tale of Mongolian Groom?

I considered writing a commentary about the controversy surrounding The Chosen Vron, then thought Natalie Voss might do a better job than I would have.

I was right!
