Is that a thing with a Minister? They have the confidence of the PM, and the confidence of the Cabinet. If they lack the confidence of the caucus (but not expressed in a manners which involves loss of confidence in the PM), they have to resign or be sacked?

Check out a first look at Disney’s ASL re-animated songs from 'Encanto,' 'Frozen 2,' and 'Moana 2,' coming to Disney+ next week. The studio reworks key musical sequences using performance-driven signing.

I wait for the full season and will watch in a month because there are only so many streaming services I will pay for and Apple isn't currently on the list?
(and I don't 🏴☠️)
Th government isn’t amending Treaty clauses in good faith, obviously, but it’s true that descriptive/specific clauses are preferable to general/operative clauses
I don't believe it was posted publicly. I'll still have it somewhere if anyone wants a copy.
During this Facebook livestream, the AG read parts of the advice.
I argued in an OIA that this amounted to waiver.
My request was declined, I went to the Ombudsman, also arguing waiver. At some point during that process, the AG decided to waive privilege, and release, resolving my complaint.
Complaint, which resulted in waiver.
Story is kinda funny. PM (I think) had already admitted advice was sought. The Committee requested it and then sought a summons.
The AG did a Facebook Live where he defended the refusal to hand over given the importance of legal professional privilege.
It was released to me. I even got draft advice.
77mm in one hour in Berhampore. That’s just an incomprehensible rain intensity anywhere at any time, let alone in Wellington in Autumn. We used to use 7mm an hour as a threshold for “heavy rain”, and this was more than 10 times that.
Whether Starmer goes is more a matter of politics than about the constitution, but the Prime Minister should properly account to Parliament for his own decision to appoint Mandelson.
His current approach of ducking, and blaming and sacking others, is a failure of prime ministerial responsibility.
If you would you want to meet up with this person, you could avoid answering the specific question and reply: "it would be great to catch up for coffee [/whatever] if you have time."
Sir Geoffrey has replied! He says:
What I said was "New Zealand is an irredeemably pluvial country." Of course because of climate change it is even more pluvial now than when I said it.
All the best,
Geoffrey
Tubi also has the very good (technically second) remake :-)
Have you ever watched the original?
I have the DVD somewhere, but I believe it's also a bonus feature on the Criterion edition.
I always want to watch the full credits, but most streaming platforms do not want me to.
(Do not have HBO+ or whatever it's called now)
There's a fear that people are going to be killed? Has someone reported this to the cops?
When Irex was proposed, the Council consulted on and approved a $110m loan to Port Marlborough, to upgrade the ferry terminal as part of the $530m upgrade of the Port.
A new ferry is now proposed, and the Council is consulting on the same project: upgrade the terminal at the same time as the port.
Could the act of spraypainting, rather than the publication itself, be offensive behaviour? Do we know what else he was doing at the time that might be offensive behaviour? But wilful damage seems a fine charge.
I would note however, that the NZMC (possibly as the NZPC) has issued the occasional decision in respect of non-members.
Being covered by either the BSA or the Media Council is a statutory requirement for journalists to get automatic access to special journalist privileges in covering Court hearings.
Great to be able to hear from an expert in handling challenges that arise in a setting that is difficult for others to see.

Correct take, but probably not so much unpopular as few people even know the take to have a position on whether they like it :-)
You have a problem with states outside the compact screwing with it: some state decides on a top two primary for President, and the Democrat doesn't make it Election Day.
The President is Commander in Chief of the military, not the Justice Department:
"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States"

Yes, but not an honour accorded by a government?
DPMC does note that Matai titles are not considered a foreign honour under the rules relating to foreign honours.
OIA response received: DPMC holds no advice given in relation to the PM or a previous PM about whether the acceptance of Matai title has any implications given Electoral Act rules around MPs accepting foreign appointments.
They aren't taking it at face value. Taking it at face value would be using retirement as a description of what will happen, which AP did not do in the headline or article. They used it attributed I would guess for this exact reason.
Because they're reporting what he said.
There are absolutely reasons to get annoyed at various media practices.
Fair and accurate quoting is surely far down the list.
Especially when the article the accurate headline headlines appears to include all you would want it to.
This is delightful
