Purple ink italic script handwriting on a yellow legal pad that reads “The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.”

Writing a bit slower but not trying to be super neat it looks like this.

I learned it as an adult after I had eyeball problems and needed my letters to be more distinct.

I’m not winning any prizes for neatness, but jotted this down being sure to write too fast and think it’s still decently legible. If you do look it up, make sure to include handwriting in the search.

Cursive is often slower, though there can be a case for hybrid with some joins . Learning italic script, which can be done w/wout joins can be great, because below line shapes are more distinct, but effective recall notetaking is more about context, logical structure rather than fast verbatim notes

A superpower of using a CPAP is I can sleep completely under the covers.

A few days alone, and I’ve eaten quite a bit of cheese, which is fine, but also amusing because I’m usually the one that makes sure we have vegetables, so apparently I have the habit of making sure I have vegetables with somebody, but not alone

Looks like this month is starting out with some horror and laughs (with more grit and gore) as I'm currently enjoying "The Dead Take the A Train" by Cassandra Khaw and Richard Kadrey.

Some don’t like the word pants so you may see people refer to it as being a discovery writer, discovery writing. There’s a middle ground of plantser too, though where you decide to identify is highly variable, some being “stricter” than others. I think it should be a fun vibes based self-assessment.

The style of communication is that HQ does things, then point to vague indicators of things they said in the past as telling you they would do these things.

They could just state everything clearly and then act on it, but these surprise actions have been part of the problems with nano for years.

I think we're all gonna feel ups and downs for a while yet.
I knew I had the support of my fellow region MLs and a core group of region members knew we were leaving since January, but doing the final touches of changing the region Discord to completely separate was still hard today. Time to recharge

I'm still going strong with the usual January cleanup and organizing, which includes digital things, and for some of you this number is terrifying and for others you know the incredible progress that was made to to get to here.

For all the lumping in people like to do economically, ideologically do with the Central Valley, as it runs through so much of the state I doubt it would stay united. TLDR, Southern California would get its water shut off.

Might one dare say that for a brief amount of time, before it was (let's dubiously call it cool) that the use of the word hipster in a proper context had such a niche crossover of understanding that it was set on a course of being a self parody word almost immediately, losing utility and meaning?

That sucks. I never got why blocks aren't like spam where I can see the whole feed sometimes, toggle on or off the fuckups and move on with my life. I know some people get vile stuff, but that seems like having a few levels or something would still work better than having to toggle 1 by 1

It's cold by my desk right now despite being fully dressed including socks and shoes (which oddly enough I usually take off right away, but I was going in and out for a bit) and I am feeling cold and enjoying it for a while. I will dig out my hoodies and slippers tomorrow. For tonight cold sensation

Has me behind too, more than ever before. The HQ stuff has me thinking it may be the last year my crew act as MLs, as yet another thing that has us wanting to get back to creativity a bit more on our own terms. Btw if you need bluesky invite codes, I have like 4, can DM you on the former bird site

Btw it's not cut off on desktop, I can see the whole word "change" now. So hopefully even if you have a fairly long email it should be able to change on desktop, if it is just a display bug on mobile. Otherwise I'd guess it's a rollout thing and might not be available everywhere quite yet.

Bluesky settings page, shows account, email on left, redacted email, then partial word “cha” for change option on right.

I noticed I only see “cha” clearly so they might have to fix something about how it displays the option, perhaps it’s simply pushed off the edge? I verified mine already so I’m not sure if you have do that first, but probably not.

Yeah, any toggle a user has to flip means some never will (especially if not directly on mobile). A tag that differentiates between fictitious and rl might be a useful thing, but it’s very difficult to dial that in well automatically, so I understand why, guess providing context/feeds will be key

Shit, ten minutes in and I think everybody should listen to it. If these first fundamental skills, this early joy of getting better at something and being able to see how the pieces fit together has been replaced with basically guess really hard, it's no wonder so many get frustrated and lose hope.
