Apart from the profanity and planning to do some war crimes (civilian power plants are not generally valid military targets), if you had told folks that the President would be posting 'Praise be to Allah' on Easter Sunday, they'd assume we'd lost a war.

And be right, I guess.

Can you imagine how apoplectic the right would be if Obama said "praise be to Allah", even if he said it exactly like DJT?

Two chained women are inspected before being loaded onto today's ICE Air flight at MSP.

Empty shackles, returning from El Paso, will be brought to Whipple.

The number of people loaded here this week, 67, is the highest since Feb 7-13, when Homan announced the end of Metro Surge.

Hegseth: "The president was clear this morning in his Truth that there are countries around the world who ought to be prepared to step up on this critical waterway as well. Last time I checked there was supposed to be a big bad Royal Navy that could be prepared to do things like that."

Seizing Kharg Island would risk US troops' lives and may not end Iran war, experts say President Donald Trump is threatening to deploy ground troops to seize critical oil infrastructure on Iran’s Kharg Island.

Also, here's a great explainer from the AP that answers the questions from my original post last night and confirms everything I suspected about how poorly conceived and ill-advised seizing Kharg would be.

Pentagon looks for vendors to supply pre-made bunkers within 30 days The Defense Department is trying to find vendors who can supply transportable bunkers that protect troops against blasts and shrapnel.

We are 100% going to send under-supplied troops into the line of fire to try and create a beachhead with half-assed planning.

This is tragedy in the making.

ICE Is Trying to Avoid Oversight by Buying Private Prisons The Trump administration is considering purchasing a number of private immigrant detention centers across the US. Doing so may allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement to bypass state laws geared at curbing abuses in the facilities.

They can't afford a prolonged conflict, though. Unlike Ukraine, which damaged grain supply, oil cannot be readily reapportioned like grain can. China and India will have to mediate.

The only common ground for everyone (except Russia) is to end this fast. That's a positive.

So the bystanders will ultimately be more inclined to support Iran. China and India in particular, because they need that oil badly. So we have a potential proxy war between those two and the US, with Russia nominally on Iran's side as well.

It boils down to a battle over regime change in Iran and the need for oil. The latter, though, is all the rest of the world cares about, and that will define how they act. They don't super care about the ideological rationale of the three participants.

The US and Israel both have agency, and choose to be allies. Both want to cause regime change in Iran. Both have failed spectacularly to accomplish that through force of arms and death, so far. Both of them and Iran (it too has agency) are causing and will continue to cause misery on a global scale.

Cleanest way this ends is Trump convinces himself that he's achieved some sort of victory (immaterial as to what) and withdraws forces. The strait moves from "peacefully open but contested" before the war to "Iran has permanent ability to close safe passage" but Trump can fake new normal is better.
