I read SHAZAM: THE MONSTER SOCIETY OF EVIL by @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social. A wildly fun all ages take on the character that fits perfectly. It is full of excitement and whimsy and a sense of adventurousness that a lot of superhero comics forget to include. Just fun as heck.

Artwork of comics artist Jeff Smith and three of his "Bone" characters he created; Phoney Bone, Smiley Bone and Fone Bone. And two characters from iconic comics that inspired Jeff: Snoopy from "Peanuts" and Pogo from "Pogo". And on the bottom, the text reads "Happy Birthday, Jeff Smith! From Ray V." And a date, March 3, 2025, and the artist's signature.
Hapoy belated birthday @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social! Hope you have a great week :) Made this for you.
I really do think this is an excellent metaphor for the moment.
Wow! Nicely done, Jon! Fone’s acting after he waves is really good!
I draw and ink only on paper, 2-ply bristol board to be specific, because of how easy it is to ink with a brush on its surface. I do occasionally use Adobe Photoshop for a specific effect after I have finished and scanned the page in, but otherwise I have no interest in drawing digitally.
Remember when Bone was in Disney Adventures magazine? I certainly do, so I dug into the story behind its time there, talking with @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social, @comixace.bsky.social, Marv Wolfman, and @cliffchiang.bsky.social about the how it all came together and its impact.
Did you know that @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social published a new comic in 2025? It's true! LITTLE MOUSE SAVES THE DAY! from @toonbooks.bsky.social!

I reread @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social Bone.
It's fun. It's silly. It's adventurous. It's caring.
It always makes me happy.
I first got the full Bone collection in college and was blown away by the art and storytelling! @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social is an absolute legend. His rat creatures are fun villains you meet early on, and I love them so, so much.
Ted the Bug made an appearance at this years Baltimore Comic-Con!

Seguindo o desafio #IC3tober (atrasado), com Bone, um dos mais importantes quadrinhos independentes e até hoje uma das minhas obras favoritas. Criado por @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social @indiecomicscreator.bsky.social
Met this amazing leaf bug when I opened up the shop this morning.
Obviously I dubbed it Ted, in homage to @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social
I’m choosing to believe that meeting (and not stepping on Ted) means I am about to be part of an epic adventure.
The work of @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social and Rafael Rosado always make me feel positive energy. They commit wholly to projects and characters.
@natepowell.bsky.social and @anntelnaes.bsky.social make me feel like I'm seeing things anew, but they speak truth from deep wells of emapthy and observation.

"A satisfying romp for new readers building their own confidence" says @thehb about LITTLE MOUSE SAVES THE DAY by @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social www.hbook.com/story/review...
ALA’s GNCR issharing the nominations for the 2025 Best Graphic Novels for Children Little Mouse Saves the Day by @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social After Little Mouse goes to bed, he spots a mysterious, spooky shape sitting in his closet. Little Mouse must channel his inner superhero to face his fears.
There’s a direct connection between @jeffsmithsbone.bsky.social’s Bone appearing in Disney Adventures and my mom advocating for comics in her school.
I always wondered how Disney decided to inject an indie juggernaut into its massive readership. @davidharper.bsky.social tracked down this history:
"Pogo" by Walt Kelly The cover shows Pogo holding a suitcase and umbrella and raising his hat to the reader.
Today's random Pogo paperback. The very first one, from 1951.
Got him a few days ago, but Hank is finally safe with friends!
