Roy Anthony Scott was in a mental health crisis and called 911 asking for help
Cops came and killed him, & now the Court is casting doubt on whether the cops can be held accountable for his death

lol I think about how WNBA players have so much to lose and face so much scrutiny, yet they continue to stand on business, whereas the most powerful man in basketball can't even take an iota of accountability.
It's actually embarrassing.
“Veterans Against Fascism” conducted an anti-Trump protest in the Capitol building today.
Many were arrested for peacefully protesting and exercising their First Amendment rights.
North Carolina ICE arrests continue at fast pace after Border Patrol surge in Charlotte. ICE arrested about 2,300 people over 3 months, hitting monthly records higher than before surge. ICE credits HB318 with making arrests easier. (Via Caitlin McGlade) www.newsobserver.com/news/politic... #ncpol
Sorry, what are “ai-powered asset tools”
After more than five years of prodding from local residents, elected officials and the MTA, Columbia University will partially pay for accessibility upgrades to the No. 1 line’s towering 125th Street station, THE CITY has learned.

Meanwhile, ICE has not slowed down. They are just going about it quietly, which means the violence we saw before was performative, encouraged & unnecessary.

Anti-Data Center organizing is really ramping up especially in the South.
Ok everyone, I’m coming out and admitting it. I **really** love kestrels! Like, borderline obsessed. Thank you to all of you out there posting kestrel content.

Ahahahaaa what? It still blows my mind people think that. It’s gotta be collective shame and sublimation. Ibid: who actually enshrined genocidal hatred in law and used those institutions to carry out genocide? Very sorry that happened to you.

I hear you! It didn’t work as a site for co-thinking and sense making for me, but did enable discovery — there were so many more scholars poets and interdisciplinary thinkers on twitter. This space skews very US UK CA and Aus — which feels impoverished despite the many great minds here.
5 light-skinned, middle-aged people sitting on a stage, 2 men and 3 women — in a panel discussion-like setup in front of an audience, with a projected slide on top of them saying “People under pressure tend to revert to behaviours they are familiar with, rather than being open to experimentation or innovation.”
Quoting his behavioural science colleagues:

I finished Brooke Newman's book over the weekend. It's a compelling read backed with many kinds of historical evidence, including analysis of paintings, which I enjoyed the most. No question of the royal family's involvement in slavery and how the Crown financially profited from the institution.
Congratulations!!

Today, a lot of people will be talking about the manifesto that Palantir released. In addition to pouring over what those words mean, I invite you to ground the conversation in what Palantir has already done.
Its work with Israel and ICE show us exactly what it stands for.
Of course. There’s a reason why Black press were the only ones able to document them under Jim Crow — white newsrooms didn’t have access to Black funeral homes and also incited many of the lynchings. I’m noticing the new tactics in this era.
Is anyone tracking these apparent lynchings outside of the Black press?
