I hate phonology. Also: given that I have to do phonology, I demand that someone who likes it undertake a massive documentation of all proposed optimally theoretic constraints w/ Talmudic levels of exegesis for each: date of 1st attestation, constraints considered equivalent, inconsistencies, &c.

As a ling PhD student in theoretical morphosyntax, my most enduring mixed-culture relationship is the one I have w/ my socioling/ling anth officemate. Just got back from a trip & our whiteboard is covered in a conspiratorial looking web I believe is a social network of queer Romanians in Iași.

I actually think Trump makes felons look bad. Nothing wrong with loyalty to a felon imo.

Something I’ve resisted fiercely in the past, but have unfortunately had to accept in my 30s is that if you dust your house once a week, your house will be a lot less dusty.

It’s kind of an outrage if you think about it.
