Very excited to read the new Paul McCartney book about his time in Wings. I even went for a spin on an appropriate bike to get in the mood #ColnagoJet #Colnago

Looking for a day is so under rated. Magnificent album
Swimmers in the Thames on a grey evening
It wasn't the most picturesque evening, but tonight's Tidal Thames Swim was just what I needed - a fast swoosh in one direction, a more challenging swim back - and the good company of other swimmers

"Universal basic income makes people happier and does NOT make them want to leave their jobs, long-term study finds," reports that left wing rag the, err Daily Mail. #universalbasicincome

Glorious to see #BoysWonder at Village Underground last night. Still my favourite live band ever. So good to have them back
Enjoying Eimar McBride's The City Changes Its Face. As well as making me nostalgic for 90s Camden it inspired me to give the debut Tindersticks album a spin. Melody Maker made it album of the year in 1993 - they were right! www.youtube.com/watch?v=19Eu...
Did a very long bike ride yesterday and popped in to wave at George Orwell's cottage. I love the idea that the farm round the corner inspired Animal Farm.
15 years ago today. That went quick. #AlexChilton

Did the Cambridgeshire Classic bike ride today. Perfect day for it. Stopped by the US memorial in Thurleigh. Bike is a Mason Aspect
David Niven as Cupid. Photographed IN MID AIR over a swimming pool - shorts, ridiculous hat and very little else, holding a bow and arrow and sporting the cheesiest of grins.
David Niven's birthday, is it? Time once more for The Greatest Picture Ever Taken, then.
Misty morning hop around Norfolk/Suffolk border. Love the Fairlight Secan - wonderful winter bike #cycling #Fairlight
I don't often have music on while working, but the Twisted Dream Machine #PaisleyUnderground compilation is making Thursday afternoon zip by. The Three O'Clock, Dream Syndicate, Bangles, Green On Red, Game Theory, Rain Parade - it is a treasure trove of 80s pop psych milestones. Love it!
Love this book and it is one of my favourite @backlisted.bsky.social episodes. One day I'll get around to Sinclair Lewis' It Can't Happen Here to see how it all might end on the other side of the pond
Last weekend's cycling trip to Caister/Horsey to see the seal pups. As a kid my favourite game was jumping off those lions at Caister into the dunes. #Norfolk #Fairlightbike
That's tomorrow evening sorted
Sobbing already and the gig hasn't even started. Going to be emotional...
The music is as dayglo as its cover. Wonderful stuff
House of Love and The Primitives. My fantasy gig from 88. Both still sounding great.
Fab wasn't it! Amazing to hear those songs live
And @theclientele.bsky.social playing their earliest songs. Hope they don't leave it so long next time...
The Smashing Time at the Moth Club. Like The TVPs at their most Byrdsie. Now for The Clientele playing their really really early stuff
Hugely excited about seeing @theclientele.bsky.social at the Moth tonight playing 'It's Art Dad'
This one is so special!

Just did, and it is great!
One for N16ers. I cycle past the street on which this novel is set at least a couple of times a week. Lots of really interesting local history and as @jacquiwine.bsky.social says it is really accessible and gripping read
Only three swimmers today - getting colder. #Westreservoir #N16
Fantastic story Rhodri. I went to see The Motorcycle Boy at the Camden Falcon not long after. We caught half of the support band's set. They were obv really good though the singer was a tad obnoxious. At the end of the gig he said we use to be Seymour, but we are Blur now...
Weirdly... had an urge to play this today. Not heard for decades. Aussie #christianrock at its finest ;-) Nearly as much fun as Wide Open Road #Triffids #alternative80s

Spent most of the weekend watching football on TV, interspersed with this. So magical
