That said, I plan to prioritize next month on working to finish my official sona/png character concept going forward. For now I'm gonna take what time I have off this week into next week to catch up on commissions.

I want so desperately to be able to afford recording and streaming stuff like parts to upgrade my PC, and my friends want to do stuff with me, but I've gotta prioritize on my finances first so I'm not continuing a struggle paycheck-to-paycheck worrying about my teeth or my car and so on.

If there's anything this year is teaching me, it's patience and perseverance. And so far It's gotten me a decent job that's close, most of my dental situation being fixed save for the expensive part which hopefully won't be TOO expensive soon, and a clean bill of health from the doctor.

I tend to get emotional about this sort of thing. Some of my friends would know. It's been a point of frustration when I simaltaneously hear that I'm not as far along as I thought I was, while also being grateful I'm getting any real words of advice. it's bitter sweet and took decades waiting for.

I think maybe part of my struggle is I'm not spening a lot of time drawing from inspirations like fanart of materials I like and drawing more from my head. If you don't give food for your brain, how do you expect it to grow right? So I'm gonna try that a bit more while purchasing books to read.

I realize that I can't ask that of people especially online to teach me for free how to draw. That said, I always appreciate the suggestions and words of advice. Too often I get in the headspace that I've atrophied or falling behind when everyone else younger then me is leaving me in the dust.

I took very brief courses on contour drawing in community college before I was put in a position that I had to throw away that just to get away from the unhealthy environment I was living in at the time. Since then I've struggled to find tutors or support from those who can mentor me. Realistic? No.

Some of the most powerful things I've been told by my friends about my art is what I'm lacking or what I don't understand. Because it means I have something to take and learn from where I've previously lost my way on. I'm entirely self taught. Moved a lot, had no real art courses in school. (thread)

Saying that, I think there's also a lot you pour into Wemut and Mumble that relates to your struggles more or less, but Dandy has more of the positives and endearing traits.

I think there's a lot of yourself you pour into it and there's a lot of what I think you wish to see more of in yourself. And I think that's rad. 😎
