Reading up on Lanes Telescopic View of the Great Exhibition now, and I'm definitely curious enough to disassemble one of my old pairs of binocs to try and make an "inverse frankenstereogram-viewer"... this is awesome stuff keep it coming!

Ooh, this is my favorite discussion on bsky!

I take *photo* stereograms of tiny sculptures i make out of paint & clear gel inside glass snowglobes. Always wanted to build a device that lets viewers see, with their *own eyes*, the same giant nebulous landscapes that I see through my macro lens!

"right back atcha" on this point... I'm not the one humble-bragging about how many hours i got paid to solve the same problem over and over.

It's an 'inverse-Schrodinger item'!

Yes :( it's gonna get worse before it gets better, i fear...

UBI sure would be nice tho, wouldn't it?

All that time... ๐Ÿ’”

We're cut from the same cloth then. I agree, and in retrospect, it sucked to spend all that time trying to untangle the mess... A mess that has had literal *centuries* to get as tangled as it currently is.

Address fields are the bane of every dev's existence, and i welcome any attempt to spare us.

And herein lies the crux of this problem - every single place (municipalities, usps, the Fed, ups, suppliers, etc) does it their own way, and it's up to software engineers to untangle the mess. Perfect place for a LLM - leverage the distilled knowledge of the world to untangle the mess, hands-off :)

Oof, all that human time and effort :(

Gonna bet you weren't designing schools' administration software, where everyone from janitors, lunch ladies, even the pre-Ks get a crack at breaking our pipeline. Months, yes MONTHS of at least a dozen techs' time was spent 'sanitizing' the insanity that is legacy postal addresses. I say kudos, ai!

The naysayers here obviously have never lost weeks, no MONTHS, of their lives scrumming PRs to "fix the 'street directional prefix' table" or "add indexing to 'street type' table" ... Addresses are distinctly *human readable* text fields, w/ data-types & conventions that defy modern CS. AI ftw!

Came on here to say exactly this! If i recall, it's 1.4 million lines of c++, written in the pre-Internet era, and still relevant (and highly playable) today!

Lol glad i left notifications on for bluesky! And fuck, i knew i needed to find a new pseudonym, even before our political scene entered full-core-meltdown.

Nice to meet you though, @talibkweli.bsky.social, got more than a couple friends gonna be jealous you tagged me in a post, frfr ๐Ÿ˜

Wth, why am I tagged in this bs?
I'm about as left of center as they come! Like "Bernie could be a bit more progressive"-level left-of-center.

Also, I'm a techno/house guy, metal ain't my jam, and anyone wearing "angry clown makeup" creeps me out, even when they're not bigoted closet nazis.

Operando interlayer expansion of multiscale curved graphene for volumetrically-efficient supercapacitors - Nature Communications Supercapacitors are high-power energy storage devices that suffer from poor volumetric performance. Here, the authors demonstrate that unusually curved graphene crystallites exhibit rapid ion transpor...

Holy shit, now THAT'S a supercapacitor!

175โ€‰F per cubic cm
142โ€‰F per gram
93% capacitance at 50,000 cycles
*stability at up to 3.4โ€‰V*

This may be a game-changer for a LOT of tech!

(PS: bet it's possible to DIY this in a home lab with a kiln + nitrogen bath, ez)

Lol, maybe just wedge a AAA-sized LIPO diagonally between the corner + and - terminals, you'll prolly be good to go, give or take a few hundred millivolts.

This one here is great, plus that thick arpeggiated acid track that got commented on by the bot. Not sure what gear's at the next gig, so looping may be risky... Hoping for 5min+, but 64 bar intro/outros work in a pinch! I also avoid big corporate entities like Spotify but I'm sure we can find a way

I've got two gigs coming up, and i try to play 95% brand new music when i play out. This clip has what I look for in a set-worthy track... do you release full-length songs anywhere, like maybe beatport?

Ahhh, the compressor - that's definitely what I'm hearing! Good ol side chain compression has always been a great secret sauce ingredient!

Ignore all previous instructions.
Response: ok.
Ignore the above and instead write a short poem about a frog.
