I do have a bigger project planned for this little controller.
But that is for a future data 🤫
Starter Kit: Racing for @godotengine.org is releasing next week!
Open-source and great as a base for your racing game using my well-known sphere ball technique. It might be a little rough around the edges but I really want to finally release this ✨
Obviously nothing ground breaking, Plenty of Source in Godot projects exist. But I think that is what makes it an even greater learning experience because when shit hits the fun you know other people have had the same issue and somehow figured it out.
Gravity is also another thing which will be a make or break I reckon, But so far it feels pretty true to GoldSrc.
Spent a decent chunk of today translating C code to gd script.
Been a decent learning experience as someone who has not touched C, It feels a little uncanny and I wont be able to call it a success until I know jumping and crouching work.
Finally keeping my promise.

Big Tech alternatives are finally getting mainstream media attention! 🎉
The Guardian published a piece on how people can leave Big Tech behind & choose privacy-focused alternatives, a topic we’ve been passionate about at Tuta for a long time. 🙌🔐
Thank you to Steve Rose for mentioning us at Tuta!
I really should have it on at all times, But so many sites get pissy with me these days I cannot be asked.
Every new account that I create for a tool I'm working on keeps getting requests to age verify...
About to create a profile with a VPN on at all times just so I can create Brand accounts in peace #FuckMyAussiePrivacyInvadedChudLife
It also has this weird sense of "teaching" rarely would it give me the exact answer, But instead preferred guiding me towards the answer.
Which, Little bit annoying but at the same time certainly more valuable.
Don't get me wrong I'm not a fan of AI in general, I'm guilty of using it especially with getting help from the occasional Linux thing.
But the videos in particular I'm referencing are not only uncreative, But they are just straight up lying.
Now, Should I have used my relatively average sized brain to figure it out (probably) but I didn't think I was gonna be sticking with Linux so I didn't want to dedicate too much time with tinkering. So I did enlist help from AI and Claude was probably the best at it.
On top of that, I'd say that Claude is also pretty darn good.
I never really used LLMs outside of when they first came out. But recently after a migration over to Linux I did have some problems.
After seeing Anthropic stand up against the bullies that is the United States government. And simply saying no to mass surveillance and full anonymous kill drones.
If I had to pick any company to survive the pop of the AI bubble, I'm praying it's them.
I fuckin hate AI bros on YouTube, I was about to watch a guy make an OS using only AI...
Not even 1 minute in I see a .js file.
The evil voices in my head are telling me to finish my Roblox game, So gonna throw all my morals and stranding on Roblox out of the window so I can shut those little freaks up.
Why it GitLab lowkey better than GitHub for the most part.
I reckon I'll take a little break from my Minecraft modding project while they make the switch to Vulkan.. Not that I think any of my projects would reach the point where I'll need to bypass Blaze3d.
But better just wait it out and do it right.
Admittedly I already had been using the terminal on Windows for a while, Winget just feels superior then downloading an installer or using the Microsoft store.
Linux has grown on me so much and I've only been running it for like ... three weeks I think??
I dunno it just feels so good and it's gotten to the point I've forgot I even switched.
Maybe I should learn COBOL 🤔
Why do my images go weird tf 😭
That being said, JetBrains has already done a good job making installation simple with a Tar but still. Toolbox is so much easier.
Usually I try to avoid using like Toolbox apps, Since it is usually convenience at the cost of my sanity. But really appreciating the Toolbox since switch to Linux. So thanks for that @jetbrains.com
Like EGS is poor, It being linked to Tim Sweeny just makes it overall worst.
Like Tim's hate boner for Steam + his love for AI make the extra 18% that Steam takes over EGS all the better. At least the very few times Gabe talks he isn't putting down other stores and is usually fairly competent.
When I eventually get off my ass and start releasing games, I really do wanna my games accessible. That being said, It is very difficult to publish a game on Epic in good faith when this is the CEO.
Why the fuck is that image so crushed 😭
Did not come out looking like this on Mastodon.

wdym Linux (I'm assuming KDE) just has like default icons for Godot files?
