I think @joanwestenberg.com really hits the nail on the head about doomerism in this piece. I also love the challenge toward hopeful optimism that results in action. Really encouraging read today!

@tyfromtheinternet.com I see on your site (great site, btw!) you've been listening to Daniel Pemberton's soundtrack. I've been playing that as well! He's a great composer/artist. Love what he did with the recent animated Spiderman movies, too!
Same here, Ty! Such a good reminder for me. It's something I want to keep at the forefront of my mind as I go about my day, looking for what delights, even, and maybe, especially in what typically I don't notice.

Great work! Really appreciate Obsidian Reader (and Obsidian of course)!
I had heard of concern surrounding the heat shield for re-entry, and when I saw this shared by @astrokatie.com, I was excited to read and learn! It was a well written and insightful article for me. Thank you!
Here's a great indieweb blog aggregator. Enjoying the features of it so far!
I'd love to see a Discover page. I agree it can feel like a competition sometimes, but it can also provide encouragement to just keep writing what resonates with you with an opportunity to see what resonates with others.
This is so cool! I'll start using this tool myself. Thanks for sharing!

Great poetry, Peter! Loving your @offprint.app publication, too. Thanks for sharing!
A sound behind her stirs
A scatter of bright birdsong through the air.
She turns, but cannot focus through her tears,
Or recognise the Gardener standing there

A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
More context on this #Artemis II image:
* This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right
* The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon:

What an incredible shot of earth (lede-admin.defector.com/wp-content/uploads/sites... taken by astronaut Reid Wiseman from the Orion 95,000 miles away!

Finished Marilynne Robinson's Home today. Such a beautiful, heartbreaking, and hopeful story. It contains that quality of bright sadness. The novel stirred up my own thoughts and questions about home. I wrote about them here (https://aaronjz.com/questions-on-home

Enjoying @aows.co photography work!
Starting The Artist's Way today with a good friend for quarter two. It's like a 12-steps program over 12 weeks for those who want to connect again to that creative part of themselves. I'm looking forward to the challenge!

I'm about 90% done with Home by Marilynne Robinson. It's such a beautiful book. "Can a person ever change?" is the question underlying the whole narrative and I'm loving it. All the characters & conversations feel so real and honest. Grateful for this story.

There's something good and nostalgic about hanging clothes on a clothesline. Felt good to do today.

"And I would live by the sea eternally." What a beautiful letter and memory. Thank you for sharing.
Jess Ray released a new song today. It's very good. The writing, the mix, the melody, the feel and message. Grateful for artists like her and songs like this: Find My Way Back (ffm.to/find-my-way-...).

George MacDonald on inspiration. You can't control when it happens, but through silence and stillness you can practice being ready to meet it when it arrives.
Keep 'em coming Dominik! Appreciate the consistency!

Thank you for this great update, Olly! I agree with the separate 'About' and 'Appearance' pages. But I especially appreciate the dedicated 'Custom CSS' save button. 👏
The Odyssey, Dune 3, Spiderman 4, Project Hail Mary... 2026 already feels more significant for movies than 2025.
