While golf courses can be exclusionary and poor for the environment, they also can be flourishing public spaces that allow indigenous plants and animals to thrive, protect land from coastal erosion, and create green space in world dominated by concrete.

Enough said! 🙄
Ah, I see defences of MacIntyre are appearing, written by those who fear losing the next interview with their tartan hero. But we’re talking a pattern of bad behaviour here, not an isolated incident. Change is required. Right now he’s an embarrassment, a grown man masquerading as an adolescent.

He’s not a great role model 😔
Fred Ridley’s comments re the golf ball and distance are to be welcomed. But don’t expect many golf magazine writers to come out in support of that obvious assertion. The threat of lost advertising from equipment companies will keep this debate one-sided 🤷♂️

"He might have been errant, but his artistry was unmatched. Few have played the game in the way Seve Ballesteros did with panache and dash, and fewer still have brought such excitement and theatre to golf." - John Huggan
It's a great piece. It sums Clayts up to a tee. When he speaks, everyone who loves the game and its traditions should listen.
Clayts is at his usual best 👌
