I'm writing mine right now - and happy to trade some tips. It's not my favorite activity, but I've made progress!

I appreciate this long-term take on the Gallup poll data.

The part of the survey that jumped out at me was nearly 30% of the Republicans that reported being drinkers in 2023, stopping 2 years later. I can't imagine the first place we would see this would be in the survey...

can't they just put their execs in glass cases that you have to get an employee to open for you

"While MolsonCoors is technically getting back into 'craft', I doubt that’s how they’re planning to talk about it. Instead, they’re getting (further) into the Mexican-inspired beer market"

So much potential for big brewers to new energy to lagers. A segment led by Bud/Coors/Miller is bad for beer

As long as it isn't Bulletproof!

I'll have to take a look - any names stand out?

Imagine if coffee could capture some of the momentum around the new wave of "gut healthy" sodas

That category is flying, with little/no science behind it...

Wait, so the most blocked accounts on bluesky have only been blocked by ~0.2% of users?

That is really not as high as I would have expected

Also - I think I have the exact opposite view here

“Craft is famously resistant to roll-up synergies,” said Samuel Adams founder Jim Koch, who decades ago helped start the craft beer movement in the U.S.

Can you catch a falling knife - craft beer edition

“I’m either real smart or real dumb” - Tilray CEO Irwin Simon

‘The category is changing. Why are you jumping into it?’ “millennials are not drinking their fathers’ beer. There is a big consumer base to bring into it.”

How far along are we in a complete rethinking of playing out from the back?

And how much does that goal (and Southampton) speed it up...

NYC used to consistently build 5-10 new subway stations every single year.

Since 1990 we have built 4. Not 4 per year. 4 total over 34 years.

If Democrats are going to prove we can govern, we need to fix this asap.

Did a podcast with my fellow bankers debating:

Is the alcohol downturn temporary or structural?

It was a draft - and I had first pick for the 'temporary' side - go find out what I choose, and see if I can make a good case!

Will take all the good news we can get about the NYC brewing scene. Threes makes some of my favorite beer

Love this- such a perfect encapsulation of the vibes on the way up.

2015 was pretty much the peak for craft and this reads so differently now, for so many reasons

I think the days of exporting a craft beer halfway around the world are (rightfully) coming to an end.
Just no need with so much local/fresh craft around

I don't think Sapporo has a Euro brewing presence? I'd guess they could find a local brewery with capacity if the consumer demand was strong

S-i-L works at an Alc distribution company (in HQ, not in the field) and as part of an offsite, they are learning how to clean draft lines.

Love it, need that dedication across the distribution tier!

democrats and @podsaveamerica.bsky.social bros who think you only support things when the polls say you should support them would have ended up on the side opposed to civil rights, and that is not acceptable.

To a degree the point was always about scaling individual craft brands - analysts assessed value of CBA being solely in Big Wave for years

But the last 2yrs have taken us to the end point much more rapidly than I expected!

divorce is definitely final - next up: 5-10yrs of craft consolidation?

AB Inbev CEO saying wine and cocktails are sweeter and have more calories than beer https://finance.yahoo.com/video/ab-inbev-ceo-no-1-215936614.html

ABInbev chief saying that beer won't be as impacted by weight loss drugs bc it isn't as sweet.

Maybe!

But I can say I get a LOT of questions about Ozempic/GLP-1s, and no one knows what they will do, but it is a legit industry concern

(some folks I talk to in Europe still sleeping on this)

New favourite joke:

A priest, a pastor, and a rabbit walk into a blood donation centre.

The nurse asks the rabbit, "What blood group are you?"

"Well," says the rabbit, "I'm probably a type O."
