A year ago we got creative and constructed this stand to protect this 1950s rubber swim cap, showing no signs of degradation we decided to place the cap in plastic storage on top of charcoal to absorb anything that may arise. A year on we have found the cap in a bad way with irreversible damages.

These birds eggs are over 100 years old and was in a poor state some were cracked and on a bed of horrible wool. A pink felt inside the case had degraded and attached to the egg shells, which needed removing and the glass on the case was cracked and needed cleaning too.
Plastic dish deterioration, this may have been accelerated by someone using a glue to fix the broken foot and not making sure it was safe to do so. Also the lid is broken due to inexperienced packing or damages from poor handling techniques.
Object labeling on plastics using starch paste and tissue paper, this method isn't my favourite as its forever rubbing off on me...
Finally graduated today and got a masters with commendation in Preventive Conservation.

Hardknott Roman Fort was an amazing hidden little gem, I would love to go back and take the time to appreciate its scenery just as the Romans would have done.
Today in 27 BCE Roman emperor Octavian was granted the title of Caesar Augustus by the Roman senate; Becoming Rome’s first emperor, Octavian is best known for initiating the Pax Romana, a peaceful period of two centuries in which Rome imposed order and expanded its empire.
Today, approximately 2000 years ago in 49BCE, Julius Caesar defied the Roman Senate and crossed the Rubicon, uttering "alea iacta est" (the die is cast), signaling the start of a civil war which would lead to his appointment as Roman dictator for life.
Today i got to graduate, this was something I never thought I'd do but here I am, I've already started my MA and living life at 42 years old doing something I love doing day in day out.
