But his skating is separate. His agility and bursts have looked better but not his best. I really feel the team botched his knee injury, and he’s still regaining strength.

These days feels like the only thing missing from EP40s game is his speed. Hes not slow, but he’s still not where he was a couple years ago. Although there’s been marked improvement.

Is this just a matter of time with him regaining strength in his knee? Or is this who he is?

I think if we draft Stenberg we will make him a centre. Zero talk about McKenna being a centre. I was hoping Tynan Lawrence would excel once he got to college but he has zero points in 5 games. So I don't think he is moving into the top 3. Caleb Malhotra is a centre. A drop to 3 we might take him

I think there’s something to be said about player development. You’re probably right, but they’re 7 pts out right now. That gets to 12 with 20 games remaining, Scotty Bowman couldn’t catch you up lol

If the results were even semi-close I’d be open to keeping him, but they’re constantly getting ventilated and majority of goals against are a result of system breakdowns where even vets are confused.

I agree they thought it would cost less to acquire a centre, and then the UFAs dried up. I think they did a good job seeing the lay of the land and pivoted quickly.

Will they do it well? Idk and I can’t say I’m confident, but that’s a separate issue. We shall see!

If we can get him for free I have no problem with it. 4.8M for a 25 year old 3C when Wennberg just got 6M doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Fits the age group and doesn’t break the bank. We learned how valuable centres are and Kotkaniemi is an upgrade with upside.
