Three small knit sachets intended to be filled with potpourri. Left: A burgundy palm tree on a white background. Middle: A pink heart on a grey background. Right: A bubble stitch with diamond effect, alternating rows of white and burgundy. The background of the photo is silver.
Not all the sachets will have meaning attached to the design, but two of these do. On the right: the stitch pattern reminds me of slippers Norina made me while I lived in Sask for school. On the left: a palm tree for her love of vacays in warmer climes.

I'm supporting the Canadian Cancer Society!
In trusted partnership with donors and volunteers, we improve the lives of all those affected by cancer through world-class research, transformative advocacy and compassionate support.
Fundraising update! Smashed through my modest goal thanks to everyone's generosity. Donations still being accepted through Feb for the @cancersociety.bsky.social : fundraisemyway.cancer.ca/participants...
I'm using my late aunt Norina's yarn to make potpourri sachets to gift to her fam/friends.

Two cakes of yarn, one burgundy, one white. The white one sits on a hanging spindle of sorts. White yarn has been cast on to a circular needle, which is sitting on top of the cake of burgundy yarn.
Casting on to combat cancer!
Day 1 of the @cancersociety.bsky.social Feb knitting challenge! I'll be working on little projects with yarn from my late aunt Norina.
If you can donate to the fundraiser, much appreciated. If you cannot, pls help spread the word!

Bottom foreground are trees and a lit up house, while above is a deep pink hue of the northern lights with a few stars clear in the sky.
Too faint to see with the naked eye, but my camera was able to pick up a bit of the aurora borealis tonight.

I’ve entered a new psychological level of unemployment where I pick up new or restart old hobbies & projects.
In the past few months I’ve forayed into making tshirt yarn, making potpourri, restarting my family tree from scratch, writing fiction, training the dog, playing with bullet journaling

Okay, sure, I guess I didn’t need that arm

I'm in a weird New Year's headspace.
Usually I go into January rolling my eyes at the notion of resolutions and fresh starts.
This year I'm feeling weirdly optimistic and am forcibly preventing myself from making all the resolutions.
I am uncomfortable with this reversal of mindset.

A round blue container containing a couple handfuls of dehydrated apple slices that have turned golden and wavy in the oven.
Latest distraction project is making potpourri. These dried apples are quite pretty, but six hours later, most of the slices are still in the oven.

My cousin wanted to do a practice pet session before opening her studio to holiday appointments so I took Cora down for an adventure. Pup was so excited that we got four good shots in between licking the photographer’s face. She did a lot with not much to work with!

Tangled pile of tshirt yarn that looks grey but is forest green
Rolled ball of tshirt yarn that looks grey but is forest green
Found several old shirts during a severe clean and purge of my closet and dresser this weekend, so I’m experimenting with making t-shirt yarn.

The head of an expectant and hopeful dog with tan coloured fur, darker floppy ears, and golden eyes gazes over a top of a desk.
Cora refuses to try and understand the phrase, “you’ve had enough cheese today.”
