can't believe it's now normal to see 1000 daily active users on Luna. I remember being super happy about 10, 20, 100.

My girlfriend wanted to turn her Handwriting into a font, so I built her a tool to do it. It's free to use. I might at some point add a small payment for some features.
anyone using it now can just use it for free though.

I had a crazy dream last night. Dreamt that I never wrote my masters thesis and still have to go back to study just for that. (I finished it 5 years ago)
First time I had one of those “omg I missed an exam” dreams
Found out about a teacher using the space simulator I built in class.
So happy to see!
I finally found out why SO MANY people from indonesia went on Luna :D

Managed a big milestone:
Benchpressing my bodyweight.
Many more milestones to follow.
Again unexplained 10x traffic.
Anyone from Indonesia wanna tell me how they found out about Luna?
I had 6 gopro batteries, I bought my gopro like 3 years ago, and I did not use it much. 4 of them got bloated just sitting around. one still works, and I don't know where I put the other one. But yeah, definitely not going to buy a gopro again
The problem with adding an easter egg mode to a space sim is that there's too many people actually believing the weirdest things.
I hope no one genuinely believes in the geocentric egg-shaped earth mode.
Also I will probably get back to adding useful stuff, even though this has been fun
Aprils fools in Luna. Try it out lol
Couldn't wait. It's pushed
A small glimpse on how Jupiter would look in the sky from Io.
Pushing the update to luna tomorrow (when I figure out why it turns transparent lol)
Most of Jupiters moons are tidally locked, so you wouldn't see a Jupiterrise or Jupiterset.

Trying my hand at short form video creation for education, using tools I built myself. Very niche.
Did you know that sunsets on mars are blue? #astro

I am so happy you like it! Thank you for sharing it!

Use whisper in your browser (for free) runs in your browser.
Yes there are other options. Yes, I only shared it because the name careless whisper is so funny
So apparently in the last 24h over a thousand people have literally googled for "luna watermelonson" or "luna watermelon son"
But I have no idea how people got the idea to look for it? And why is it almost exclusively people from Indonesia? :D
Wow, the traffic to my space simulator Luna really exploded. Basically giving me my usual daily users in an hour. Hope the server can hold it. Looks like google ranks it quite high now.
What’s with Reddit auto translating posts? What a wild default setting.
It also shows why some people respond in their native language when a post was in English or any other language.
What a stupid default setting, but I guess that’s how you reach more people?
Added rayleigh scattering to my space sim. Seeing how the atmosphere affects the color of the sky. Super curious how sunsets could look with different atmospheres. A first version is pushed. Still tweaking it locally #astro #sciart
I have added some more tutorials and some astronomy education resources into my space simulator. I think it can turn into a great teaching tool.
Added an interactive explanation for the ecliptic, too
check out the galaxy map and the new learning tab. I'll turn off the old default tutorial soon.
Check out the sky view (look at the ecliptic tutorial in the learning panel)
The next luna release is ready - if anyone wants to check it and let me know if you find any issues:

When you've had too many statistics classes, the monty hall problem is so obvious that it's more shocking that people think it makes no difference whether you change the door or not
Teaser for my space sim:
How Proxima Centauri looks from the planet, and an artist rendition - looks like we can showcase the size really well already. Extremely excited to publish the next changes.
Also, this shows me that I should add atmosphere (and planetary elevation maps) into the Sky view
A German politician couldn’t explain what greenhouse gases are lmao
Also, in case anyone is looking at Luna and wants to use it for education: I am working on more features and I would love any feedback, especially astronomers or astronomy teachers
really cool video. Earned a sub :D
Kind of crazy to see that a thing I built and wasn't even sure if I should share has been averaging 100 daily active users #buildinpublic
Lmao #cat
