"Elon Musk cooked his brain online. Marc Andreessen and others seemingly struggled with being in virtual spaces where their ideas and status were challenged, and rewired their political beliefs as a form of cope."
Good deep dive into tech broligarchy madness:
Take heart, Rebecca. Not in MAGA, but elsewhere, things are getting better. Ppl are more likely to be held accountable. We are getting there. And it's bc of ppl like you who have championed this cause. Thank you so much for all you do & for inspiring us all. You are a beacon of light for us all.
Very happy to donate to the Muslim Sisters of Éire who feed the unhoused week in week out. Only takes a minute msoe.ie/donate/
Absolutely. That was a singular show and I was locked in.
In Turkey, an elderly man who earns his living by shining shoes is visited every morning at the same time by a cat that asks to have its fur brushed. The man never turns down this little friend.😍👍💙
Co-design, co-development and co-ordination in deploying the solution back at the centre.
AI doesn’t kill leadership. It kills the illusion that task coordination was leadership.
What remains is the harder part: judgment, boundaries, escalation and system design.

One of the key discriminators to the sequence of events that occurs after splashdown is whether Orion lands right-side up (stable 1) or upside down (stable 2).

2 switches mounted to the side of the seat
The white box is the top of the Post-Landing LiOH
Crew will install 2 post-landing Lithium Hydroxide units that will manage CO2 levels for up to 2 hours until the recovery team gets the hatch open. I’ll go over contingencies that could take longer in another thread. These are battery powered to preserve vehicle power for other things.
Artemis 1 Orion capsule under 3 red and white parachutes, hitting the ocean at an angle
Artemis II crew in the Orion mock-up in the landing config.
Starting tomorrow, we start reconfiguring the cabin for entry. Entry config will look a lot like launch with a few key differences.
Goals: Make sure we’re within the needed center of gravity to hit the way at the right angle. Allow the crew to remain seated & suited during recovery.
Loved the book as well. But yeah, great adaptation.
Just saw this. It was most excellent.
Looking through one of the four windows of the Orion spacecraft, a tiny crescent Earth is illuminated against the blackness of space and grows smaller as the crew journeys closer to the Moon. Part of the window edge is visible; the rest is darkness. [Alt-text slightly revised from ESA/NASA version]
We are so, so small. #Artemis
Oh my gd, the Artemis II crew doing a parody of a bad 1980s sitcom intro from in space.

🚨 Christina Koch has officially become the farthest any woman has ever traveled from Earth
NASA just dropped this image of Artemis II astronaut Christina Koch looking back at us. The first woman to ever see our planet in its entirety. I’m not crying you’re crying 🥹🔭🧪 📸: NASA
Oh Ezra… enough with the Kool-Aid. Go back to critical thinking…
Wired are absolutely killing it.
“Volume of deliverables” = easier to measure than “impact on user experience”
Reading @dervlamctiernan.bsky.social What Happened To Nina? Cannot put it down. Looking forward to hearing her at #MWF in a few weeks. #booksky libro.fm/audiobooks/9...

Me: do you realize the baby in this song is scheduling his or her fist colonoscopy about now

Two misaligned incentives that combine to give us the state of modern tech:
1) Volume of deliverables is more visible than their quality
2) Putting out fires is more visible than preventing them
