and not unintentional - many cis folk need to cleanse any hint of queerness or transgression from their choices in order to feel comfortable. the current mainstream promotion of hormones for cis folk goes hand in hand with the removal of trans access to them
For those who missed it: this was the moment The Strokes ensured they’ll never be invited back to Coachella again! I'm so proud of them
This is just so cool. A Roman-era mummy recently excavated in Egypt contained a fragment of papyrus with a section of the Iliad.
(I understand a lot of them are more anime-inspired, but frankly, I have the same criticisms there. If your all-but-explicitly "Nichijou"-inspired RPG about cute girls doing nothing can't handle the scene from its source material where one of the girls beats up a cop, it is not fit for purpose!)
Into The Odd and all the games based on it kind of do this.
The Sixth Sense got me good but I saw the twist coming in The Usual Suspects.
I had a lot of fun watching my kid watch Aliens. No twists exactly, but it does have some pretty excellent reveals.

Endgame was honestly the perfect point to just stop. Let the franchise settle, sort out legal rights on some of the characters, and maybe give it a fresh start around ... well, now honestly.
Instead the whole Marvel machine has been pinballing back and forth without the Infinity Saga to lean on.
No.
Y'know what? No.
The entire mess Marvel is in has a lot of elements but a major one is that the Russos tied up the entire Marvel Universe with Endgame. Thematically, emotionally, structurally, the 10+ year buildup came to a climax and conclusion.
Don't pretend like it was a new beginning.
I wish I was either as young as or as good as Akira.
Well Akira is still a fucking incredible film then.

Hafren Dyfrdwy is the Welsh name for Severn Trent, they are not a “Welsh” Water Company @theguardian.com
They are another bit of corporate thievery that @plaidcymru.bsky.social should target if they take @senedd.cymru
Private water companies (including Dŵr Cymru) damage Cymru.
I am frankly shocked that after Israel leveled all of Gaza murdering countless people with no repercussions at all, they then immediately continued their genocide in another country.
Who could have known.
I didn't get into MgT at first, but MgT2e and everything since had been excellent. I ran a campaign of Pirates of Drinax with it and had a great time.
Striker was a whole skirmish game using Traveller rules. Mercenary (book 4) probably added more rules for RPG combat though.
…for three total minor actions which gives interesting options. As standard there are rules for dodging, parrying and diving for cover. The equipment list adds to the variety… I’m sure there’s more in the Traveller Companion too.
I’d say give it a go first, there’s more to it than most modern RPGs. Maps are optional but supported if you want them. Damage is applied to stats making for some serious but dynamic consequences. PCs get a major and a minor action each round, but they can swap the Major for two additional Minor…
From “The Simpsons” house genius John Swartzwelder, interviewed in The New Yorker by Mike Sacks
“The liability issue is intimately tied to the question on whether the chatbot encourages acts of violence by concretizing an action plan.”
Risus was fairly well known about 15 years ago. It was a go-to system for one-shots for a lot of people.
I'm sorry Fabio. That's really hard.

Thanks for the heads up! I am not booked to take my kid tomorrow.
I enjoy D&D wizards well enough but they can feel very gamey when they are limited by the rules rather than by the fiction.
I've never played Ars Magica but I've run and played a lot of Whitehack which has freeform magic and I love it.
Neither of them have responded to replies giving them the science and extensive evidence of the actual impact of the bans, and lack of justification for them.
Just this week I've had emails from an SNP candidate and a LibDem one saying they can't support an end to bans on trans healthcare because "we have to follow the science".
The centre ground of our politics is discriminatory cruelty laundered as reasonable moderation.
I haven't tried to recapture the games of my youth, what I have done is finally run the games I wanted to run but didn't know how to when I was a teenager.
