Artists, quote with your kitty #art
Posts by Rae H.
A page is a sketchbook. Fluorescent pink and blue pens, a highlighter and a pencil either side. The sketchbook page is filled with a line drawing of a cat sprawled on an armchair. A footstool sits in front of the chair and a blanket is draped over the chair back. A full bookcase stands to the right and several picture frames hang above the chair on the wall. The image is lit harshly in two colours; fluorescent pink for the light and rich blue for the shadows.
Felt like drawing light. Harsh contrast, plus a kitty!

A drawing of a pony with very long, white mane hair, it's being backlit by a very strong light, probably the sun
Just a little boredom painting

I love me some Bobiverse! I love rereading the first part of book one. So good!
Ooh! I have read this! It was a LOT of fun. Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for your interest! I'll let you know if I need more help!
That's amazing! How did you come up with that??
Would World Turtles be considered aquatic animals? They do swim, but through space instead?
I envisioned a whole galaxy of World Turtles in my books, with other space swimmers like Sun Fish and Stellar Sharks! Imagine a shark the size of a planet with teeth of moon shards...

I've not had a beta reader before. How would it work?
Just gave "The Time Amulet of Charul" & the rest of the stories and poems in "The Mesozoic Reader: Volume 1" a read. That was a lot of fun!
Nanotech, magic, & grumpy chalico mounts painted a very vivid & captivating short story ๐
"The Plumed Serpent" freaked me out a little! Quality, eerie writing!
Thank you so much!
It's a niche genre called LitRPG / GameLit. Like 'Ready Player One' where a lot of the book is based a virtual video game world.
I've not used beta readers yet, so I don't know how the process works!
Ahh, it's a long one... Approx 238,000 words currently.
It's also a niche genre called LitRPG or GameLit. Like 'Ready Player One' where most of the book is in a virtual game world.
Let me know if you are still interested. I've never needed a beta reader before and I'm not sure how it should work!
I have FINISHED the second editing pass of the FINAL CHAPTER of #Dragon'sBlood!!!
I... don't know what to do now. Beta readers? Querying? Start posting chapters on #RoyalRoad?
Any advice, other authors out there?

I have loved dragons for so long and I am now writing a novel about being a dragon!
#Dragon'sBlood is a #LitRPG about a young woman who becomes the first person to play as a dragon in a full immersion VR video game called Chelonia Online. Transhumanism and found family themes!

The first book I ever wrote in Grade 3 was about dinosaurs! Specifically Richard the velociraptor. I wrote AND illustrated this 15 page masterpiece after I lost my toy of the same name. The comments and stickers on the front had a lot to do with me becoming an author later.

Origin of the first werewolf - he transfers his gift in the traditional way. Another snippet just for you!
"The great wolfโs spirit cried out as it saw the two young, fading lives. And so with a tooth, the great wolf took a tiny piece of his spirit and let if flow into each little girl."
Bites/Bites lore:
"Still he chased his dead love. Eventually, he fell to the frost, too weak to go on. The spirits of light, stirred by his devotion, reached out to him. The great wolf came to the dying man and laid its body down upon his. The wolf breathed in, and wolf and man became one."

In my superhero #GameLit 'No Cape Required', MC adopts a "dog". Insists he's a rottweiler with mange, but appears to be a glitched combo of monster canines from prior versions of the game (mutant ice bear-wolf, zombie hound). Named Pine Fresh for the air freshener covering his zombie smell!

War Geese! Imagine a regular, nasty, hissing goose, but ~6metres tall. They're basically dinosaurs. They have colouration on the underside of their wings to imitate the eyes of the biggest, meanest goose in the flock.
Folks rode these into battle and the enemy ran the other way.

I once was VERY into watching those amateur film series on YouTube about Slenderman, and tried to write my own version as a novel. Didn't get very far!

Hmm, not sure if I'll get back to that one. It didn't have much of a plot... Maybe one day when I've finished my current WIPs I can pull it out and dust it off!
One of the first things I attempted to write in highschool was 'Cataclysm'. A novel about a family of royal anthropomorphic cats. There were politics, backstabbing and murders. They rode dogs as mounts! I think I only wrote two chapters, haha!

Today's second edit pass for chapter 26 of #Dragon'sBlood! was fuelled by spherical snacks of the chocolate variety, and Shania Twain's sultry voice. So close to final chapter 30!!

Oooh, a long time ago I did work on a fanfic about three vampire/werewolf romantic couples. Never finished it, but it was fun!
I even wrote ancient lore about how the vampires and werewolves came to be and how they were literally made for each other...
I called it Bites/Bites!

Hi #Critterary!
As one can imagine whilst writing a novel named #Dragon'sBlood, I write a lot about dragons! I was a HUGE fan of dinosaurs growing up, so when I started reading fantasy books, dragons were the logical progression there! My book also includes golems, cervitaurs, & War Geese!

Garroteweeds! Creepy! I love it!
Struggled to start editing #Dragon'sBlood today, so I drew the main character, Seyrak-tohlys in her chibi form instead!

An attempted selfie where you only see my eyes and up my nose, and the entire bottom half of the photo is taken up by the side of a ginger cat with his tail arching above my head.
g'day
Just finished second edit pass for chapter 24 of #Dragon'sBlood! I'm so close to the end now! Time for chocolate! Or maybe lunch... THEN chocolate!

On my ride I passed a phone booth that was ringing. I stopped, backed up and stared, considering picking up the grimy handset. It stopped ringing before I could decide and I feel like I've missed out on some kind of destiny...
Or a spam call!
Perhaps I can write this into a future novel?
