They haven't played Kent yet...

A smidgen too late to be relevant, but this drive-by on Lancashire CC whilst commenting on the Somerset-Hants game is impressive: discussion.theguardian.com/comment-perm...
"10k freeloaders watching the Hants stream. Get the paywall up, quick!"
At that point they were closing out the first half reasonably well. But once the Roses got things together in the second half that ended up a crushing result.
Far beyond my abilities...
If Kent get away with a weather assisted draw two weeks in a row then I will take it, with the strong feeling that the points in the table do not reflect the terrible performance in the middle.
Kent are abject.
I think the pitch is also quite easy to score on, which makes the (now two years and counting) plan of inserting the opposition so your batters are exhausted even more puzzling.
Thought I would comment on the cricket when Kent took a second wicket, but that would be a long time silent.
Compare and contrast his average as a test opener.
TBH, the other day I thought the government's immigration policy was solely based on nudge theory, so there's still elements of it around.
A Kent draw. Wonder how that would have gone with a full four days. Definitely felt that Durham were the stronger team, but some Kent progress compared to the end of last year.
Owltruism.
Dave is risen, etc.
Somehow Zak doesn't seem the most likely recipient of divine favour.
A very... Kent... first innings of the season: one batter holds it together, the bowlers chip in much of the middle order, fell just short of a meaningless landmark.
However, better bowling means we avoided the follow on! Onwards and upwards.
Late to the cricket this morning so I missed Kent's mini-collapse.
I am surprised how quickly Kemar Roach is leaking runs. I am not surprised how softly Kent lost the middle order. I'm particularly worried about DBD whose form has never seemed to recover from the captaincy.
Screenshot from Casual UK reddit Help me catch this pigeon! I have someone's fancy pigeon in my garden. He arrived yesterday and I thought he'd left but I got up this morning and he is back just clomping around my garden. He's got muffs on his feet and is obviously someone's escaped or abandoned pet.

I think it's clear that Durham have a more incisive bowling attack than Kent do. Certainly putting the first innings into perspective.
Note, however, that Zak caught all his slip chances, whilst McKinney has dropped Muyeye...
Kent manage to bowl the opposition out within 80 overs. I cannot remember the last time that happened, and dare not look.
On the stream that ball seemed to seam back a mile, but padding never looks good.
Either that was a great setup by Dudgeon to get Bedingham, or clown car cricket all round (4404W, DB goes for 12 off 11).
Just as I was drifting off, Dudgeon gets a ball on the stumps to bounce and move and Lees can only fend to the slips. Good catch.
Still think that the Kent bowling isn't looking very challenging and Evison in particular is leaking runs far too fast.
Kent have taken a wicket. Only took me insulting the new overseas bowler in order for him to get his act together, plus what looked like a pretty dubious umpiring decision...
County cricket is back. Countdown to the first Kent bowling injury begins.
Looking at the Kent bowling and "top" wicket takers was like punching a bruise.
Here’s my annual county championship pre-season round-up. Hope you find it useful/interesting! ashestourist.wordpress.com/2026/04/01/c...
It's strange that I also think of Somerset's bowling as being "it's fine, something will turn up" - Archie Vaughan seemed the luckiest player on the planet the other year - but strength in depth is not a standard Somerset trait...
It's an interesting comparison in their thoughts on Glamorgan and Sussex, although the latter do have the points deduction issue.

Nearly at the County Cricket time of the year. I cannot decide if the Grauniad's prediction for Kent is absurdly optimistic or pessimistic...
Lunchtime doubly so.
Yesterday I filmed several baby birds walking across a street directly at my camera and asked Bluesky to suggest music
Several dozen folks did
Some even dubbed music over the original clip.
I haven't been able to get this out of my head.
So I give you
A Bluesky exclusive:
